Tourist Trophy - anyone playing?
Hey all. Has anyone played Tourist Trophy at length? Looks pretty interesting, but what little I've read on it suggests there isn't much in the way of tuning. I'm pretty far away from gaming right now as I've not had my PS2 hooked up in over 5 months. That will hopefully change here in the next month or so.

It's a good game and I think it kind of shows in what dirrection they may be taking the GT series in the future. The tuning is ver VERY dulled down, but it works just fine if you play around with it enough.... Though the game is WAY to easy... And short for that matter... But a good game none the less.

Tourist Trophy
I've known about this title for quite some time now but wasn't sure about the fan base for bikes here at GTVault so left it alone. Its scored well in reviews on US based sites and like you pete I'm into bikes in a big way, probably more so than I am into cars!
TT is out here in the UK on May the 5th, I'm expecting to recive my copy that night from a mate who can get it on discount for me, just means I have to wait all day and it might even be saturday morning so I'll be goin out of my mind waiting lol
GTplanet members have been showing off there photomode pics kicking the rear of the bikes going out of corners and backing the bikes in by using the rear break as you carn't back em in like you would on a real bike by using plenty of front break and going to 1st/2nd gear as fast as possible...

Yea i played tourist trophy it's almost the same thing as GT4 but with less Race events. I think the most they got is like 23 no more than 30 tracks. Another thing i did not really like about the game is that you can not buy parts its only tuning the bike. Its cool but it could of been better but i do recomend the game if you like motorcyles its real realistic. 1

The problem with making a bike verison of GT4 is that most of these bikes would be considered fully tuned as is. Aside from the few idiots out there who turbo their busa's there just isn't alot of upgrading to do.
Rms 3:23 For all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God.
Rms 5:8 But God demonstrates His love toward us, in that, while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
Rms 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal Life.

Im sorry but I have to disagree. Most people's first engine mod tends to be a race exhaust, filter and jetting the engine/installing a power commander. Further on from that, blueprinting, gas flowing, most of the same type of tuning that you can do on cars really! (they are still engines after all) Not forgetting upgrading the suspension, lightening the engine & chassis, reducing the unsprung weight by changing the wheels... as I said in a previous post (on the 'future of GT' thread) there's loads you can do to bikes. Turboing your 'abusa' is certainly one way to go, but there are other ways...
But I am dissapointed that you cant upgrade in TT , oh well... roll on TT2!

I played a bit of it at a local store. To be honest, the first thing I wanted to do was go suicidal with my lil rider. Alas, I found the crashes lame, but then again I didn't think they would do much with it considering the wrecks in the GT series.

Yeah, I've played...however, I feel the handling of the bikes is a little off. I mean, that may be due to the fact that I'm not familiar with sport bikes like that. Minus the handling factor, the tuning isn't all that great either. I do, though, agree with Nacht, the crashes are lame. But with the realistic look and feel of the game, I can turn my cheek the other way. Long story short, this is a game that I would personally prefer to rent over buy. Case being until I understand the handling of a sport bike and the adverse differences between GT4 and Tourist Trophy.

Not a bad price though, how much was your mate getting yours for?

Noooooooooo! It must have been delayed or they have it wrong, guess I'll find out this weekend when I go to work and pass the local GAME shop. On the price front tho I was meant to be getting mine and paying around £25 for it... I could wait and pay that price pre owned from a local Indy shop but I want it badly!

I've been playing it for a bit. It's pretty fun, but I've yet to even touch the actual tuning section. I've looked at it a bit, & it seems interesting, but kinda lacking in the bike tuning section, although the ability to change your rider's style is pretty cool.

Further to previous posts about the uk release date for TT, they have it for pre-order on Game.net as being the 26 May also, at the same price as on play.com.
Started training for my bike licence today, so hopefully I'll be able to quantify the handling physics soon (test next monday - wish me luck! )
Meanwhile, I guess I'll have to just keep sneaking little looks at the US TT site - cant find one for the uk yet, anyone else had any luck?

i havent played it yet but it sounded pretty cool, but i heard you cant customize and tune the bikes like you can the cars on gt4 if thats the case.
what ive felt, what ive known, turn the pages, turn the stone, behind the door should i open it for you? yeahhhh, what ive felt, what ive known, sick and tired i stand alone, could you be there cause im the one that waits for you, or are you unforgiven 2

Hey all. Been playing for a little over a week now. Was able to SMOKE through the license tests no problem. Things start to get quite a bit more difficult once you get into some of the bigger races.
Handling is great.. the game is completely about raceline and actually knowing how to ride. The tuning is way less important, so far, from what i've found in this game. Whereas GT is all about it.. gearing is about the only thing i've changed up on any of the bikes and doing very well thus far.
Little to no customizing at all. When you get into two-stroke and race modified bikes.. yeah it's pretty much already done for you.
No purchasing bikes.. you complete challenges to win the bikes. Kind of neat, kind of not. Go through and win all your licenses, and you can go straight for one of the biggest bikes in the game, without much difficulty.
Very good for a first real bike title.. I agree.. can't wait for TT2 on PS3
