Tested on Laguna Seca. Eliminated pretty much all understeer and almost none present. The car is now pretty fast and handles great. Comments and feedback are always welcomed.
Since you have over 500HP, try raising the final drive ratio to at least 4.000, or 3.800. The stock final drive ratio(4.444) is for the 300 or so HP the car had. You could do the same for your Ford Focus set-up if you like.
Which ever figure you choose for your gear ratios, just remember the motivation behind it. The motivation should stem from the knowledge that rally cars need more torque rather than high speeds, reason, to pull out from slides around corners. Rarely will a rally car hit tops speeds on a rally track. So set your gearing for high torque.
I definitely agree with that on a rally track, and with this car even on tarmac. I tried the car with a final gear drive ratio of 4.000 and the car did not seem to come out of a corner as quickly as with the final as whatever I have it set on now, can't really remember now though.
