Oh my god! What sick puppy thought up this car? It's like having a rocket strapped onto my butt. And just like a rocket you have to practically point this thing in the opposite direction to slow it down. Is it the fastest car? No. Is it the most powerful car? No. Does it have any brakes? NOO! I would complain more but I lost all my teeth when I couldn't stop for turn one of Laguna Seca. It had 115 miles at posting.
P.S: So there are no misunderstandings I just want to add that I am joking here. I did enjoy the feeling of raw power this thing transfers (as much as it can) through the game. I simply wanted to use a jocular approach to the comment.

Use T5s and lower the brake balance. I can get the GTS into the 1'17s at Laguna for a reference.

Thanks nomeite for the tip, however:

1. If I lower the BB than it won't stop faster.
2. I put on T4's because T5's and this setup will not make 5 laps with tire wear.
3. I am happy that you got 1'17's but this is a road setup, not a course specific. Never use a road setup for every course, they are meant as a jump point for pre-course tuning.
4. Who amongst us does not like the rocket effect? We are playing a game that allows us to modify cars to a mind numbing power. Drifters are just the rocket effect with a smoky trail.

Happy driving!

My set-up
Using T8s, I have the following lap times using the same set-up(only adjusting the auto set to each course)

Laguna 1'14.766
Midfield 1'05.607
Complex String 4'21.07

This proves the GTS can brake, turn, and be a rocket car at the same time.

Thank you for taking the time to follow up with me.

Great your times sound just fine, however,

1. The cars breaking ability is relative. Meaning that the observer [me] does not think it breaks as much as I would like it to. Maybe subjective rather than relative would be more accurate?

2. I never made a comment about its turning ability; I found no problem with it using my setup. But isn't that the point of making a setup?

3. As you point out those are T8's. Now try any of those mentioned races with those same T8's for five laps with tire wear on and no pitting. That is how I come to suggest my tire type. T8's as most people know will improve the time on a car. On the other hand I must also point out that even though I comment on the tires in the last post I was not really clear as to how I choose them [T4's]. Now I hope I have explained a bit more clearly as I do not wish to be vague.

4. Track time is not just a reflection of the car setup alone. It is also the driver. Maybe I could do better on the same tracks with those tires, maybe not. In the end it does not matter because I will never be able to mimic your driving precisely.

Finally I do appreciate your comments and have taken them into consideration. I enjoy comments left for me. Be they tips for a specific technical course or just general criticism. So once again thank you nomeite. More people should leave comments on how they feel about the different setups posted at GTVault. Otherwise there would not be any method by which a person could judge the usefulness of their posted setups. Speaking of which I am still a little hazy on your feedback, was that an “It works for me but” or was that an “It's not really good for me and this is why”? As a last thought I realized that I should mention that my original comments for this car was just a bit of humor, I was not sure if you caught the connotation as your comments seem to indicate that you read the denotation.

Brake Balance
As with my first comment, lowering the brake balance allows the car to turn while braking, that way you can brake just a little later going to the corner. I learned this while driving the 1099HP RGT at Deep Forest II when I had the brake balance at 22/24 front and rear. The RGT kept sliding off the course when I braked, so I adjusted the brakes to 16/18 I think, and ran between 1'08 and 1'09 at the Pro Boxter race at Deep Forest II. I used T4s in the front and T5s in the back and pitted after Lap 5. Now with the GTS and GTS-R Oreca the front and rear brake balance works best for me when the front is more than the rear, but all my other set ups I prefer the rear brake balance more than the front.

I see, so what I should try to do is lower the BB and instead of cutting into the turn early wait a little more and sort of "loop" the middle of the turn. Let me go fire the game up right now, I never thought of that. The simple things, how do we miss them? Heck, speaking of simple, if this works for me it should jump up all my times; assuming I can retrain myself.

As to more BB in front or back? I think I prefer more in the front, I like the tail to wiggle free some. That almost sounds perverse. Thanks nomeite I hope this works.

P.S. What is Nome like? We are bound for Alaska when it comes time for her next job move. Most likely... yes sorry about that the keyboard crashed. Where was I? Oh yes Alaska, I don't know to what post but we will be there around 2006 or so. I have heard about equal pro's and con's.

Whoa, I'm still trying to dissect this one, Dadthewheel:

"I was not sure if you caught the connotation as your comments seem to indicate that you read the denotation."

Seriously, I like to see exchanges such as this one. I programmed this site specifically so people could learn from one another.

In the comment box for the car setup I made reference to a rocket, reverse thrust etc. By denotation I was implying that nomeite took my words at “face value”. That is not how I intended them. My intention was to create a little humor around what I think is a very nice car in both its performance and esthetics. I was concerned that my comments, made in a light hearted mood had inadvertently insulted nomeite. This would be a terrible thing as I am sure you can see the irony; comments made in humor create displeasure. I simply wanted to clarify and if appropriate apologize to nomeite to avoid any ill feelings. Does that clear it up any?

Hehe -- Actually I understood your comment and was being facetious in return. As you said it's easy to take comments literally.
