I don't really know what to say about the BMW 328ci. It is not that I am disappointed by it, no certainly not. It is just that there was nothing which leapt out at me and said “this is what makes the car different from the rest”. It is a little slow off the line and in acceleration out of a tight corner. Now I know it is turbo (with a turbo lag) but even still compared to other cars in its class it was just a little slow. Once you build up momentum though the car really moves and is very nimble at most all speeds. In fact I could not find a range (slow to fast) where this thing failed to perform. Even after taking it on a diet the weight was still there and could be felt by the movements of the car and wheel. Not to say that it is the same as a Mercedes, no this is definitely a subtler almost silky shift of weight. I could have gotten away with T5's instead of T4's on the front and at the same time gotten ride of the weight shift, but in the end I chose not to as it just seemed to slow the car and it did not give the return in performance I was expecting. Besides after tuning it out the car became very “neutral”, and I wanted a BMW not a test mule.

The good: Great handling at all speed ranges and very smooth weight shift in turns. The bad: Rather bland car, it lacks that certain “flavor” I would have expected from a BMW and it was slow to pick up speed.

Setup for wheel and pedals.
