This works great for me. Still learing how to drive this car and would like any comments you might have on that subject. What about the final drive ratio? Good job, Fumes

I find it easiest and quickest to just change the Auto Gears, rather than change the final drive ratio. Changing the final drive ratio does basically the same thing as the auto gear setup, but you could potentially mess up the way the car accelerates if you fiddle with final ratio too much. If you find the gears topping out too quickly on a faster track, just up the auto setting a bit at a time until your top speed just hits the redline.

As for driving the car, with this stiff shocks setup, you're able to drive it hard and brake later. The setup up was tuned on medium tires, so it should perform better on soft tires for races without tire wear. Keep off the grass as usual. It's 4wd will get you out of most hairy situations, and since I've removed most of it's understeer, you can take corners hard.

Thanks for your input, Fumes. It appears other tuners could benefit from your knowledge. Ever thought of doing a FAQ Smile

FAQ
An FAQ? Nope. I don't seem to have the time lately to even turn on the PS2.

I've just gained a lot of experience since the Gran Turismo days and applied it to GT2 and GT3. I also race a modified Supra and have been know to dabble in go karts. Tuning experiences there were used in GT as well.

Kerr, why don't you write a tuning/driving faq. Afterall, you have this whole website as a resource. You've got 636 members, the last time I looked, that can give input to the Grand Ultimate GT3 FAQ !!

I know I'll lend you some comments if needed.

Total Turbo,

what do you mean by "hard" ? Is the car understeering while braking and turning at the same time?
You shouldn't be doing that anyway, it means you have braked too late. Adjust your driving so that you brake before the corner and you actually are capable of slight acceleration while in the corner. No car will be easier to drive while braking and turning. It's a contradiction really. Braking = to stop ; Turning = to change direction. You can't stop and change direction at the same time. You need to be moving to change direction. :-)

But if you must, the only thing I can recommend is reducing front brakes to 14. Causing less brake lockup at the front to allow the wheels to rotate while turning.

I agree, All the braking and car direction needs to be sorted by going into the corner. I have found that some cars will let you get away with a little late braking but this car isnt as forgiving. I good to hear you are also into karting, i currently drive an Arrow AX8.

Didn't use LSD, I felt it was not needed for good handling.

Can't wait to try this setup. I've recently started playing GT3 again(kids damaged my GT4 disc)and i'm amazed at the differences as far as how the cars behave. There are multiple tuners with great setups on "4", but it seems only your setups give me success on "3". I can't figure it out. Only your Dodge Viper setup has given me fits and i think it's "user error" on my part. Slides all over the track. Haven't taken time to vote on the 9 setups i've used(shame on me) but i will tonight. Thanks FUMES ! ! ! ! Cool
Lead by example........
