GT4 and GTVault
Since the GT4 release date is now "official", I've often been asked the question, "Will we be able to post setups for GT4?". The answer is "hell yeah". When exactly, I don't know. I've done about as much preparation as I can without having played the game. When I get the game in my hands and have available to me the details I have been long asking for, I can finally press forward. I will keep you guys posted as things progress.
On another note, I will be going to the Chicao Auto Show this weekend. I am looking forward to it, as the auto show in my town blows in comparison. I just got a new digicam, so I will be sure to post some pics when I get back.

You RAWK!!!
Yeah Kerr, you RAWK!!! I'm in the same boat as R34, and will donate when I can. I hope some more people will donate if they can.
I would do it now but my wife and I just donated $50 to the Red Cross for that unfortunate event in south asia. But good news is that the red cross got enough to fund the rest of the relief that they need over there. I think it was like $1.2 billion or something like that. Pretty cool, I thought.

Thanks guys - I'd much rather you donate to the Red Cross than to GTVault!

It will ship to the retailers on the 22nd. Gamestop in my area says it will arrive on the 24th or 25th. All seems well so far.

Don't get all crazy just because my local gamestop guy told me this. hehe. He probrably works for min wages, anyways. Most of the time they don't know sega from sony. You never know about these things. He may be full of it. and it also depends on where you live, I would guess.
Come to think of it, I don't even know where the games are actually comming from in the US. I hope It does come out in stores on the 23rd, but I don't know.

There isn't too much different. All of the GT3 style adjustments are still in. There is however only one menu to tweak setups and change parts instead of going back and forth.
There is a setup for nitrous injection.
You can add weight and distribute it to the frojnt or rear as you see fit to change the attitude of your car.
The tires are different too. You have 3 normal street compound tire, 3 sport compound and 6 race compound tires i think, also snow and dirt tires to choose from.
And you cant save your setups like you used to. Now you have 3 buttons on top of the setup screen marked A, B, and C. each one can house a different setup. It is unknown by me at this time wether or not you can transfer them to another car of the same make and model.
Hope this helps. You really should get this game asap. It RAWKS!!!
P.S. Kerr has a better write up about setups on the home page. Chack it out.

92civicfreak - I still have a lot of work ahead of me to get GTVault set up for GT4. I had to wait until after the game was released to begin the technical work because PD would not respond to my questions about how the tuning engine would work.
In addition to all that, GTVault is being redesigned and rewritten from the ground up in a different programming language. Bottom line, it may be a couple months before I get the new GTVault in place.

How come I never got one?!?! I like posters too. I know. Those gamestop dudes are hoarding them all to sell on ebay or something. The bastards.

after playing the game for a few hours the past 3 evenings , I am finding that the pixelating on the start of some races are not prominate now in HD. I had a thought this morning while playing , I wounder if they made the game play alright with the PS2 but really designed it for the new PS3 comming out in the near future??
Maybe this is why we get some blurryness/pixelating/jaggies with our PS2 units?
And what is up with the annoying countdown of credits going into your account .........Man I have to mute the TV when that area comes up .
The Other thing that kind of pisses me off is the thought process of the race series car won.........If I have to purchase a truck to race I Sure as hell dont want to win another truck, give me something that I can advance further into the game ?
Oh well ,the goods things far out weigh the bads so I guess I will keep playing .....

SprayTech - I'm not sure about the PS2 vs. PS3 theory. I think the PS3 is not due out now until sometime in 2007. If it does run PS2 games (and it probably will) it will most likely do so in a 'software' mode, due to vast differences in hardware architecture and the programming that goes along with that. At any rate, I don't think that PD had planned on having problems with the vertical blurring on the PS2.

The credit sound issue can be resolved by either turning off your menu SE or by holding down the X button and it just disappears. I personally hate the menu Sound Effects and the Menu music, so I just automatically turn it off on every GT game.
And does anyone know if the screan blur happens on the new slim PS2 or is it just the old model?
