The new GTVault
Hey guys, I just wanted to let everyone know that the new site is coming along well. I appreciate everyone's patience as we work through the numerous obstacles presented by GT4. We have a lot in place yet there is more work to be done. I have read some musings here and there about GTVault and it's place among the GT4 community. Some have chosen to question whether GTVault will be there for the GT4 tuners. Others have chosen to attack my character as a webmaster. To the former: GTVault will continue to be the definitive resource for Gran Turismo tuners and racers. Thanks for hanging in there. To the latter: I'd appreciate something being mentioned directly to me before false remarks are made about me or the manner I run GTVault.

Now on to the good stuff. The new GTVault will usher in many new features including:
  • A totally new look and feel
  • A tuning guide from none other than Fumes
  • A fully redesigned setup form and viewing system
  • In depth analysis of Race Events
  • Complete information for every car in the game
  • A fully customizable car search and analysis interface
  • Post search functionality
  • A new comment posting system on par with full fledged forums
  • A Setup voting system
These are just some of the major highlights. My thanks go out to all the people that have contributed over the years. I'll keep you posted as we get closer to launch.

kerr,

I like what I see, and the color combo is easy on the eyes too.

Thanks to you kerr and everyone involved with the new site.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I myself thought the orangey color scheme wouldn't go over well, but as SprayTech points out it is easier on the eyes. The current grey on blue looks okay at first but is a strain to read after awhile (I'm squinting as I type this).

@GTANOMALY - Thanks for your donation offer! I currently only get donations through PayPal due to security reasons. Tell you what, make sure all your GT4 friends know that GTVault is going to be better than ever and that will be just as good as a money donation. Smile

I have two games going, one for researching car and game info and another that I am actually playing. I am only 15% done on my game because I spend all my time programming the site! The 15% is mostly through Driving Missions and most of the Beginner Events.

Site Looks Great.

Kerr, BZ's on the new site!! I'm only 30% into GT4 myself,.......... work, family and the rest. I'm keeping tons of notes on what I'm doing as I go, So I'll have a pile to input to the new site format. Keep up the great work, and don't forget to get out and get some sun too. Until Later, Brian

PS: BZ is short for Bravo Zulu,...... a US Navy way of saying attaboy!

Looking fantastic!

Can't shrud off the feeling that we are all leechers to something great. Wish I could contribute in some way. My tuning skills are to poor, my developer skills lies elsewhere and so on. Guess I just have to get myself a PayPal account.... =)

Looking forward to the new version of GTVault.

The screen shots look enticing.

Here's an idea. Include a snapshot from the game of each car on the car's information page. The cars image would not be huge, say 200 or 300 pixels across. The fun part would be that the images are from the contributors (and thus would change as new ones were submitted). Which photo to use? Whichever the webmaster wants. Perhaps to submit a photo, you need to submit a tuning for the car... (maybe not). Or if willing, just keep a link to all the good photos submitted and randomly select one to show... Another option would be tuners could submit a photo of their tuned car (on the track it's tuned for). The image could be shown on the tuning page...

I have rambled on too long. (I don't want to keep you from coding!)

Whenever it is ready, we'll be waiting! I am sure it will be better than anyother solution out there (for GT4 car tunings.)
Just take everything down to Highway 61

Kerr: You should be proud of what you and the other fellas that are helping you with the techno info side for the database are about to launch. Given what you have done with GT3 I don't understand the attempt to defame you other than out of jealously. I look forward to the launch and I especially look forward to the setup advise from Fumes. I know you said that you were in touch with him regarding GT4 and have noticed his absence of comment to the other threads. Chin up and look forward to the birth of the GT4 site.

I don't really like being the only complainer here, but I think something should be done about the little car pics at the top of the new site. Looks like some renult and a jgtc car, I don't think they look as good. How about the F1, or a small panarama of LeMans cars on the LeSarthe track?

Now we can call you gods...lol seriously, this is a great job and the new features are amazing! Wonderbar!

I like Froggy's idea, an image bank for all vehicules that members can look and participate or a tuner can put images on his settings page...if this is no't too big (the size of that much images could be enormous)

The best thing to do is exactly what you are: Ignore the fools and keep on doing what you do best by providing outstanding support of the GT community.
