The new GTVault is finally here...
The new GTVault is finally here. 18 months in the making, you're looking at the combined contribution of some of the most dedicated people I've had the pleasure of working with. I started this project alone, just as I had when developing the original GTVault. When I learned of GT4's much expanded scope, I knew that completing the site on my own would drive me insane. Even with the help, I think in some ways it still has. A Little Slow

Anyway, I'd l ike to personally thank (in alphabetical order) DTW, Fumes, hal2000 and tito_de_vito for their support in the development of the new GTVault. The site you see today would not be a reality otherwise. Thanks to all of you guys for hanging in there and seeing this through to the end. I'd also like to thank the many people who provided me tips and direction on the new site. There are too many to name, but you know who you are. And finally, thanks to everyone for being so patient during this time. Oh, and a big "no thanks" to Polyphony Digital for ignoring all my requests for information about GT4. You guys really know how to support a grassroots type community. Kudos.

The new GTVault has been totally redesigned from the ground up, so listing all the changes here would be futile. Explore the site and you'll hopefully find it to be much easier to navigate and find what you need. I strongly recommend checking out the FAQ. It's a work in progress, but it should have enough to get everyone moving along. I hope everyone enjoys the site and finds all the new functionality useful. There is much more I'd like to do, however I must take a long overdue break for the time being.

Please, don't hesitate to post your thoughts (good or bad) about the new site.

Two things everyone should be aware of:
  • You will have to login one time due to GTVault using new servers. If you can't remember your password, click the Lost Password link.
  • As of 6/21/2005, I have a new web host and have just pointed the gtvault.com domain to the new servers. This usually takes a couple days to update across the Internet. [Temporary address removed as it's been 5 days since the transition]

Oh...My...Gawd.

This is the new happiest day of my life. The first was when I discovered the GTVault the first time. I love you Kerr. *cough* in a brotherly, manly sort of way, of course.

Thanks, all. There may be some bugs here and there that need to get squashed. If you see anything that looks wrong, feel free to post to this thread.

I've debated on keeping that one as it may be overused Evil

My GOD!!!!! Eek You've done an insane job my good man. I've just perused the site and I must say, your new version has COMPLETELY desimated the previous Vault. Congratulations, I'll be throwing up my setups eventually... it'll take me a while as I have 716 cars, and about 300 of those cars have 3 setups Confused

Very nice, Kerr (and everyone else involved). I especially like the color scheme. You already had the best setup site (actually, the best GT site, period), but the new setup is even better. Well worth the wait.

Fantastic job, Kerr Thumbs Up

This meshes nicely with the House of GT's recently opened GT4 database.

It's good to see a lot of new and returning tuners during the first day. I don't know how word got out so fast, but I believe traffic has quadrupled in the last 12 hours or so.

NoQuarter - good to see you again. I recall you were one of the very first members back when GTVault was, quite literally, green. I saw that HGT is open for GT4 times, which I know is no small feat. Now if we could only integrate Smile

The new site looks great! I was not able to log in earlier due to my password, but it appears this issue has been fixed. Thanks for the quick service.

Relating to the note of bugs, you may want to address your power figures. This wouldn't be an error on your behalf, but rather on Polyphony Digital's. The HP figures you have listed (presumably taken from the Garage screen) are actually in PS, despite having HP selected in the measurement options. To see the values in HP, one has to view them in the car's individual screen or in the small power graph. You may also find any missing torque figures in this small power graph.

I know this is just a tiny nitpick; only fix it if it's easy and convenient for you Smile

Great job on the site again, I'll be here all the time!

Man, I really hate PD. The entire site is based on post-oil change numbers from the garage list. DTW and hal2000 spent untold hours gathering all that info, and I wouldn't wish that tedious task on anyone. The good news is that, for comparison sake, all the numbers are accurate. If PD would have provided me a spreadsheet with that info, no one would have to have gone to that effort to begin with.

Thanks for letting me know.
