Happy Thanksgiving!
Well, it looks like I already have 10 new users in about 3 hours... and on Thanksgiving Day no less! You guys should be spending time with your families, not surfing the Granturismo.com forums! This site can be a really cool tool for the GT3 community. And of course, it goes without saying, the site will only be as good as we make it. So, let's get some setups entered!
If anyone needs anything or has questions, post a comment or e-mail me.

This has to be one of the slickest GT3 sites on the WWW. My compliments to the Brains Trust =]
Serious GT3 fans needed a site like this to exchange ideas and challenges. As opposed to some of the other forums doing the rounds, I hope that this DB takes on a more mature and concise nature to reflect it's obviously high production values and commitment to ONE of (not THE... has anyone played Burnout? Serious fun!) the best PS games ever.
Thanks again for a great site and lets build up the settings log to be the envy of every other site on the Web. Viva GT3!

DGZeta

It's okay for you. But here in the UK it's business as usual. I'm following my new years resolution for 2002 to be prepared. I've not got GT3 or PS2 yet. But when I do I'll be ready.

With availability of dex type devices, a linked DB of saved settings would be a great addition. A tuner could look up a particular car/track setup, and download the setting file for one to his/her liking...

NoQuarter, I agree... Now I just need for someone to get me a Dex drive! Do saved car settings in GT3 go under their own save file or are they part of a bigger GT3 save file? If they're all in one file, implementing something like this would not be easy.

KERR - my knowledge of Dex is too limited to comment with any authority but I think that saved settings are allocated their own separate block in GT3? Saving the game in the usual way will preserve settings anyway but when I've tried to save settings separately (i.e. within race screens) it asks you to allocate a memblock. Speaking of settings, slapped on those listed for the Vertigo: R246 - 1:46:370. Now if only I could get my R32 S-Tune to turn in... (I'm having annoying understeer problems with all 4WD -NISMO, Mine's Lancer, Evo VI GSR...)

When you save settings in GT3, it is seperated from the game, just like saving a replay. When you save it to PC, it is a seperate file from the game save itself. However, DexDrive is for the original Playstation - SharkPort has taken over for the PS2. I am not fond of the format, but I guess I am just used to the old Dex - it sure is a heck of a lot of easier to take a memory card and read it that way than to put in the SharkPort disc, start the program on PC, and then read the save.
If you would like I can take the settings you do have, covert them to a save and send them to you to add to the site.

Skidmark - if you wouldn't find it too much trouble, I would be happy to post any saves you decide to create. That is something I don't believe any other sites are doing right now. What would be really cool is the ability to convert setups posted here on the site into saves -- but that sounds way too over my head .

C'mon Kerr! You can do it - its not that hard at all. Besides, if you can make a kick ass site using all Javascript (I myself only use HTML - still havent taken that leap yet...), you can figure it out! I will go ahead and get started on it sometime today - it shouldnt take me too long (I hope) to get the settings converted to saves. Is it cool if I link my racing site to yours here?
BTW, I also have a save that was given to me by Winchester20 - it includes the Diablo Nomad, all the prize cars in every color, all golds, 500K in the bank, and all arcade tracks open.

Somebody HELP!!!
I really am having trouble with the ROADSTER Apricot Hill Endurance race where all you could use are slow-moving Mazda Miata's. I tried hard but the computer-driven cars ran
faster and that just pisses me off. Sometimes, I would go on yelling at them whenever they
pass me by and take the lead. It's the only Endurance race left for me so that I complete all and I'm stuck with it. I guess it's time I look for advice. I'm over 80% complete with the game, done with the Arcade, and my garage boasts all those cool cars in GT3.

I haven't personally raced any enduro except Seattle. I had the same troubles on SSR11 in the Vitz cup. There was one AI racer in particular that obviously had an HP advantage. I had to win based on pit strategy (less pits) and using super slicks. Have you tried doing something like that for your Miata race?

Using Super-slick did it all. Thanks Kerr! I thought I would never complete the ENDURACE mode.. I was using normal tires before with my Mazda Miata LS and the car sucks! And the secret (which I was completely ignorant of), is just those magical tires.
When I learned that I could stick a slick on it, wow.. it was amazing! I only pitted after 15 laps and my average time/lap was 1'45"00... Now, I'm complete with all the Endurance races and I have my F094/H in my garage. Thanks!

I'm glad the tires helped out. Now go after all the F1 cars!

So, did you ever think it would get this big? I mean at the time you set the site up. What was the launch day anyway?

This thread is so old that I never would've seen this comment had I not been doing a big database conversion.
Yes, I was surprised that it got this big. The traffic, setups and new memebers has markedly tapered in the past 6 months. This is expected as GT3's life cycle nears it's end and I don't have any meaningful GT4 content on the site (yet).
The release date was the date of the original post - Thanksgiving Day 2001.
