GTTV Members rating system
I was thinking about adding tuner ratings, kind of like the ratings system over at GTF. I would base it here on setups posted instead of comments posted. I'm not sure on what names to use for the different tiers though. I was thinking there would be 5 tiers starting with something like "Lurker" and going up to something like "Gearhead"... I'm not sure.

Any thoughts?

That would be a good idea!! Then you would see who`s a top tuner and who`s not. An easy system to seperate the good setups from the bad

It would separate the people who post lots of setups from people who don't... as for good setups, that's a different story Smile

This would be a hard system to implement; as settings are subjective to driving style and/or controllers, It may be more helpfull to state if the set-up is better suited to grip or drift type driving.

It may be easier to rate cars by ease/difficulty of tuneability or by witch problem you want to fix i.e. push or loose condition wheelspin or braking problems

Yeah, the more I think about it, the more I see it becoming a game of numbers. Some unscrupulous ppl would end up posting a ton of crappy setups just to get a good rating. Rating the cars by ease of tunability would be kind of subjective too... One person might find a car easy to tune based possibly on their driving style, while another might find the same car very hard to tune. How does one rate that car in terms of "tunability"?

Now the driving style would definitely be a plus. I may look into adding a driving style drop-down box to the Setup Entry form.

What about a setup rating system? Everyone can go in and rate a given setup so the tuner can get feedback. Ick, I can see that one turning into a huge fight when a novice driver expects a setup to compensate for their lack of experience. Kind of like a new golfer with a $350 driver.

Too many variables

After giving it a lot of thought, I've decided to scrap the rating system. Settings and setups in GT3 are just too subjective to be able to implement a fair tuner rating system.
