1000 Members!
Well folks, today we hit the 1000 member mark. Thanks to all who have contributed to gtvault.com. This site would be nothing without the active particiaption of the GT tuning community. I'm working on some site enhancements, although with the nice weather it's coming along rather slowly. Keep the setups comin!
Oh yeah, I was toying around with redesigning the site, or at least maybe the color scheme. What do you guys think?
Feel free to try out some of AlphaOmegaSid's setups. He's only been here a week and has already posted 86 setups. Let him know what you think by leaving a comment.

now lets work on 1000 setups. im planning on adding some soon. oh and about he color scheme i think the colors are ok the way they are. one thing you should put on this site that would make it alot better is some chatrooms. now that would be a good upgrade to your site.

Copyright a setup? Damn, you are one vain individual - I really dont think you can "copyright" settings... Besides, if you are a good tuner, you change settings for each track - universal settings are ludicrus...

Okay folks...
AlphaOmegaSid - if you didn't mean what you said the way Skidmark took it then I don't see the need in shouting. Looks like a misinterpretation / misuse (take your pick) of the word "copyright".
And while we're on the subject, what is the point of feedback if it's all positive? That's like saying, "I am perfect and have absolutely no need for improvement." The point of Skidmark's comment was to intentionally incense you. Others may wish to leave constructive feedback about setups. I set up the feedback portion of the site mainly so people can learn from one another, not just give each other a pat on the back. I'm sorry if you don't agree with that philosophy.

AlphaOmegaSid - The last time I checked I'm not the one who made a blanket statement rejecting anything but positive feedback. As such it has nothing to do with what I believe, rather the behavior I'm observing. I also noticed you felt it appropriate to add this to your reply:
AS YOUR NAME IMPLIES, YOUR JUST A DAMN SKIDMARK ON THE ROAD LIKE A PIECE OF CRAP ON THE ROAD LEFT BY A DOG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Skidmark is one of the founding members of gtvault and has singlehandedly contributed more than any other member. While you might think posting a large quantity of setups is a gift to all the users here, that remains to be seen. Everything that gets posted stays.

Settings
Kerr just a quick suggestion. How about relocating the downforce field to where the ASM, TSC, AYC and VCD settings are at? It would be faster for people who are entering settings from the site. It's just nitpicking by the way. The site's colors are good as is. They're pretty soft on the eyes after playing GT3 until 4:00am and then posting settings :-)

Alpha0mega about your "settings" i really wonder how you use the same setting on each car or maybe you drive each car the same way. I don't know, i've checked almost all your settings and..well...they're the pretty much the same values on each car.
You tell me..

A3nImA - AlphaOmega got his panties in a bunch when Skidmark was messing with him and wanted his account and all his setuips removed from the site. I told him what he posted stays and he got the bright idea of putting bogus numbers in all the setups posted. I had to revoke his account since he didn't know how to listen, plus I didn't like his attitude as evidenced in the above posts.
As it stands, I've left the setups on the site. I haven't had a chance to look over them in great detail, however I'm certainly a fan of quality over quantity. ATTN EXPERIENCED TUNERS WITH SOME TIME - take a look at the 100+ setups AlphaOmega has posted and post your opinions in this thread. I'll be happy to delete them if they're crap.
Terranismo - Thanks for the suggestion on Downforce. I'll probably leave it on the left side as it takes both a Front and Rear setting along with the other paramaters on the far left column of the setup form. If I moved it I would have to somehow put another Front/Rear heading in and it just wouldn't look right.

AOS - All I was stating was an opinion, I may be a skidmark on the road of life, but what I say holds truth. Settings are dictated by the driver, AND the track - hands down. If I have insulted you or your intellegence, I apologize, but I will not recant my position.
Kerr, I apologize for starting the mess, but I felt like it was due.

woo hoo 1000 members who cares. Anyway, you should know how to take criticism. As long as you like it, it's all good, for you at least. And judging from your posts, you need to take some anger managment classes. And kerr, if he really wants to get rid of his acount and setups, do what he wants. But don't delete his setups, some of them might be good......

SpeedFreak: I'm confused - in one sentence you think I should get rid of the setups and in the next you think I leave them up. Help me out here...
snapper: A lot of that depends on how deeply involved PD delves into the online gamine experience in GT4. If there isn't a way to trade setups in the game I would at least consider doing it.
A3nImA: He started putting some bogus numbers in but I revoked his account and restored the setups he sabotaged. As he can't modify them, the only question left is whether to keep them or not.

mikka-1: Thanks, I'm not sure where you can find a settings repository for GT2. Last year when I made this site I did some extensive searching and had a hard time finding much of anything. You can find some settings here: http://gtsc.netfirms.com/gt2sett.htm (sorry you'll have to copy/paste this link)

What's this agruement about again? Seems like a misunderstanding all right.
I tried a couple of A.O.Sid's setups ... definitely doesn't suit my driving style.
Not to say that it's bad, each have their own drive style. But a setup with so much ASM and TCS definitely isn't my style.
AOS, if no one posted constructive criticism (ie in the negative), how will you ever learn to be a better tuner ?
I see it as "tool" to help one become a better tuner as well as finding a better setup of a particular car. For example, if someone said your setup has too much understeer or oversteer, you can take it as a challenge to reduce that, you don't have to take it as a personal attack. So why not be open to all forms of comments on your setup.
And if someone used your settings, be glad in the knowledge that your setup is good enough for someone to adopt as their own. Self recognition isn't necessary, as even if a single digit is changed in the setup, it's not the same as your's anymore.
Well, that's my two cents, don't know about the rest of you, you can keep arguing, as for me ... I'm going back to playing and enjoying GT3.

On the contrary to Alpha0megaSid, I very much would enjoy if some of you would post some comments on my setups. It doesn't matter if it's praise or criticism, I would like to have some feedback. And as Fumes said:
"AOS, if no one posted constructive criticism (ie in the negative), how will you ever learn to be a better tuner ? I need the feedback in order to see if what I'm doing is right for the general populace. Thanks for the website Kerr, you deserve another pat in the back.
