demonracer and his antics
UPDATE 3/24/04: I have erased all existence of demonracer, outbackH6tuner and boxerengine from the database. Some comments in the home page threads may appear out of context because his comments are now gone.
Original Post:
=========================================================
Hey guys,
Just wanted to give props to nomeite, 69YenkoCamaro and SPOONCIVICTYPER for showing demonracer how a trash talking braggart is received here at gtvault. Alas, demonracer won't be around any more and I know that's going to break a lot of hearts. Just so we won't forget him and his legacy, I will soon update this post with links to some of his best comments. Hopefully this won't happen again any time soon.

** Everyone please note that outbackH6tuner = demonracer **
outbackH6tuner,
First, learn how to properly capitalize your sentences. Your point can be made just fine without the use of your caps lock key. Second, try using punctuation. Your posts are very hard to read because of your inattention to even the simplest of grammar rules. Last, I can't believe you have the audacity to challenge my contribution to this site... I am this site.
I have contributed thousands of hours of my time, which could have been spent doing a number of other things, to the development of this site. GTVault isn't just some forum I hacked and then posted, it was hand coded from the ground up. What did you think; one day I pulled this site out of my ass? Why do you think no other sites like it exist? Because forums are easy to set up, this site wasn't. I wouldn't expect you to appreciate that though, as most don't. I host this site out of my own pocket. I have no banner ads. I keep it free because I believe in free exchange of information. I take donations, however this has not even come close to covering the cost of hosting this site. And what do I get from the likes of you? A challenge as to what I have contributed? Pfft.
Quantity doesn't necessarily equal quantity. A member not unlike yourself came along awhile back and posted a ton of setups. He got all bent out of shape when he received some constructive criticism and ended up leaving the site just as you did under your previous username. I have few setups on here because I made the time investment in programming the site rather than tuning, which I find to be very boring, repetitive and tedious. For those who like tuning, more power to you because I don't have the patience for it. I can sit and code all day long though.
Frankly, I don't care what you have to say as you've contributed nothing but a bad attitude to this site. Now if you have the humility to admit to yourself that maybe, just maybe, you could learn something around here and want to get along with everyone else then you're welcome to stick around. I'm sure others could learn from you as well, but being an asshole about your tuning abilities, racing acumen and country of origin isn't going to get you anywhere with anyone -- not here or anywhere else. If you don't think you can handle setup comments other than, "Oh my god, outbackH6tuner, that is the best setup I have ever seen! You are the best tuner and fastest racer I have ever heard of!", then I suggest you leave. You can tell yourself and others that this is site is terrible and that you are just being picked on, etc. Rationalize your behavior however you wish, but remember you're the one that signed up... twice.
Kerr
To everyone else -- I know no one has seen me speak like this on gtvault before, however I don't take kindly to attitudes such as this.

Wow, I see that in my absence things got pretty ugly. Sorry I missed all the action I would have loved to flame that guy some.
Edited in: So who was the other guy that posted a ton of setups then got bent out of shape?

If he's still an ass, you can -- the guy who posted the first comment, outbackH6tuner, is in fact demonracer under a different login.

Oh I just got through posting about him in 2 setups. He obviously is a very cocky newbie. LOL He came in saying I was slow compared to him. Firstly my escudo is probally the fastest non whellie car in the US. 331mph. ( sigh ) well good luck keeping this guy away.
therat1989 oh and sorry I haven't been on in a while. Socom 2 online is addicting. Hopefully GT4 will be too.

The other guy was AlphaOmegaSid. He posted over a hundred setups in less than two months. Same story as demonracer except he didn't react quite as violently.

Just wanted to commend the way you have handled yourself in dealing with "demonracers" antics. By the way belated "Happy B-day." Your site is great. The majority of the users, including myself, seem to share the same enthusiasm and respect for your unappreciated efforts in creating and maintaining such a good site. Keep up the good work and THANKS for allowing us to utilize your website. I'm sure you'll be receiving plenty of support messages regarding this topic, but I had to share my thoughts and show my support.
Kindest regards,

outback,
I have no problem with people of any nationality, rather I was throwing back at you what you had started when you began beliddling people simply because they were from the United States. We have people from all over the world on gtvault and everyone is welcome. In fact, I'd like to know how many countries are represented here on the vault. As you can see in my edit of the main post I basically asked everyone not to pick fights or judge you based on your past behavior. I really want everyone just to get along, and if you'd like to take part in the community that is all the better. Just be yourself, be courteous and don't take others' comments the wrong way and I'm sure you'll have a good experience here.
Now, to address the nomeite and civictyper situation. The first comments that I remember nomeite and civictyper posting were simply constructive criticism about your setups, whether it be km/h to mph conversion or another issue. I didn't see anything out of line with their initial comments. When you retorted with a know it all attitude, it was obvious that the fight was on.
I say we put this topic to bed and all just get along. You guys keep on tuning and I will continue my work with *major* upgrades coming for the release of GT4.

It only seems like insults now due to the recent sparks you started. This will settle back down if you just give it a little more time. I won't sit here and lie to you by saying that I am an “old timer” to this site but I will say that I have been around long enough to assure you that if you lend your criticism and accept others all will be forgetting shortly. Just don't get hot again, give it a little cooling off period.

Boxerengine/OutbackH6tuner/Demonracer

Boxerengine/OutbackH6tuner/Demonracer: Look, this is just wrong. You are not fooling us by changing names. There are certain nuances in your grammar and use of punctuation that gives you away as the same person. Now there may be one or two individuals that are still firing rounds at you but as I said before this will stop in time. You should just shrug this off instead of changing names. The only thing changing names will get you is banned once and for all.
I think that Kerr has been more than giving with you and this name jumping stunt. Honestly he is calmer than I am about it! I don't really think that you are old enough to be in college but that is not the point, no one here cares what computer you use to post your setups. Nor do I or anyone else care if you are an amateur or a pro. We are all here to share as equals but if you can not share; if you can not keep with one avatar; than just walk away.
So, agree right here and now once and for all to never pull this silly trick again, if you can't do that than I will ask Kerr if he will consider banning you permanently.

You “take a hike”, no one wants your crappy attitude, jumping from one avatar to the next. “Hi I'm new here”... “I'm not an amateur”... “I have all the GT games”. Buddy no one here but you cares, you act like an amateur, worse yet you act up more than my 6 year old kid. You take a hike meat head. All you had to do was be polite but nooooo! “I'm the best!”, “I'm better than you!”, “Only I can drive the car right!” and to make matters worse most of the limited advice you have given so far is wrong, you either bought the game last week or have spent all this time tuning by a hope and a prayer. You don't even know what the simplest of functions do.
You are a sad sight to this place and should do yourself a favor by walking away. But you can't can you? You need to keep coming back to this place because you know how inferior and poor your setups are. You come back here because you know you can't match the majority of us in skills and this really makes you mad. Instead of trying to learn from us and learn with us you have to attempt to be better than us. I know your type, you hate it when someone else is better than you, in your real life you have to shut your mouth and take the abuse that your own ignorance brings down on your head. Here though you are hoping to change all that, but it isn't working is it? You are just coming out more of a fool than when you started! Get out of our forum little boy.
WE DON'T WANT YOU!
Kerr is a man, you are just another bitch!

LOL, he really cracks me up! I especially like the “damn Americans” part. Too bad we can't keep him around as the site jester! The part I can't figure out is if he wanted to leave so badly why did he have to ask you (Kerr) to do it for him?
Oh well, I am not really that interested, so with that lets close this chapter and get back to some real racing.

I suspect he is one of those types who can't leave well enough alone and has a hard time resisting the temptation to get back on because he wants to see how we terrible Americans have wronged him.

Kerr,
First of all I want to thank you for all your time you,ve invested in this site a top job!
Secondly IMO if demonracer would go and rave and rant to me like that I would just shrug it of and stop paying attention to him, if we all would do just that the fun for him would be over soon.
Thirdly when GT4 comes out and you reconstruct this site do you intend to keep this (GT3) part?
And lastly GT4 is now set to release at the end of 2004 in mainland Europe with a smaller version beeing released soon.
Keep up the good work you all and thanks.

This is getting funnier by the moment! outbackH6tuner had gone and sabatoged the one of his setups again! Maybe he took a step forward and decided to learn how to Hybrid.

zeratul,
I'm glad you like the sitee! I agree with you on your thoughts about demonracer, but his tactics were pretty incendiary so I decided to ban him. Yes, I do intend to keep the GT3 portion of the site even after re-tooling the site for GT4. I wouldn't want to just erase everyone's hard work!
nomeite - I think he's managed to sabotage all his setups. I am debating whether to just erase every setup and post he's made. While it does provide a little laughter his comments make 0 contribution to this site.
