This minimalistic set-up is the result of preparing the car for its manufacturer races.

This R/R car does not handle well, at all, with the default settings. There are still some oversteer problems, though, usually on 5th or 6th gear curve exits. Control it with a little bit of trail braking (keep your right foot planted while gently adding a bit of braking with your left).

The engine does need the added power to win the Tokyo race, which seems to be the track that causes the most trouble for this car, for the Alpine series. If you look at the torque and power chart, you will see you have a very narrow band to use - the engine is very peaky, so an auto transmission will therefore give you a poorer response. Also, as set up above, the steering requires either very small amounts of input or very quick reactions to counter the occassional oversteer that can still maddeningly put you into the wall. Be ready for anything, but be gentle.

Gears: the Auto/Final just misses the top end on Tokyo.

You do not need TCS on a low powered RR car.

I was doing the manufacturs series of races. I did tokyo with the stock set-up and it was very loose. So I looked up this set-up and WOW what a difference. It's like it's a different car handles so good as long as your a little easy on the gas in some corners. I'll recomend this set-up to anyone! GREAT JOB

Thanks for the warm feedback, guys! That's all we ever have to go on, to know if our set-ups work for others.

This particular set-up still needs a bit more work, especially to correct for the remaining oversteer, if anyone cares to improve it.
Cheers,

MasterGT

Master GT:

Thanks for the great set-up. I used to hate that car but after driving it with your suggestions it was a joy.

I thought it could use some power for the long straights (Tokyo) so I added nitrous. All-in-all, this set-up is awesome! Thumbs Up Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

This was a great set up, when I was driving in stock I would always lose the rear end on the corners but with your tuning it was smooth as silk. The only changes I did was put a wing for some downforce and up the power to stage 2.
Thumbs Up a vote for you. well done....

Good job at taming this wild beast. I'm surprised you didn't upgrade the clutch, though, to get rid of some of that shift lag. Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

This is an absolute transformation for this car! To quote anther post of mine, You turned an ill mannered, wallowing pig( like Rosie O'Donnell) into a nicer girl like, say, Anne Heche, still kinda on the edge, but a vast improvement.

The Rosie O'Donnell < Anne Heche analogy is priceless!
