This is one outstanding little car! And no I am not just saying that because I am a Mazda fan, the car is really that good! Or maybe it is just the setup; I guess only the votes can tell for sure. I tuned it with the Turbo 5 only because I needed a car with Turbo for the Professional Turbo events. Turbo is my least favorite upgrade with NA being preferred and Supercharger the second choice. If you don’t want to run the turbo on it than feel free to change it out with either of the above two choices, all are available for this car. If you want to use this setup in an endurance race than I recommend going with the NA upgrade as turbo is hard on the tires. This setup wasn’t tested for the NA or Supercharger but there is no reason why it won’t work just as well.
When driving this thing use smooth even movements of the wheel or DS2 as this setup is sensitive. Don’t worry about the MX-5’s tendency to swap ends, it never happened to me and you shouldn’t have any problems with it either. Also go easy on the brakes; the extra force is there just in case you need it. As with any “Road Setup” posted at GTVault you may need to adjust the Auto setting.
Port polish and Engine balance done.
TCS is for launch control only.
Setup for the Logitech DFP.

Yikes! This setup handles about as well as a beached Sperm whale. I finally finessed my way to 1'46.301 at Infineon (sports car). But, that's with the DS2. I'm sure it's a gem with the wheel.
This had nothing to do with what you think, if you even think at all.

Um, now that isn’t a good sign! For the records I consider “beached like a sperm whale” to be bad feedback, it says nothing about the problems you are having.
So do you think you could actually tell me something about what is going on here? Are you flying into the corners and dropping off the other side of the track? Understeer, oversteer, something that actually says anything?
Also make sure that you are using the ORIGINAL suspension kit and not the semi-racing. I have seen this mistake happen to Fumes with his MX-5 setup.

For some reason the edit post is not working? Anyway also make sure you have read section 2 of my comments. If you are trying to crank the joystick as hard as you can this car will loose you. The setup is made to give you the brakes and turning power IF you need it, otherwise smooth and easy won me every race I used it in.
Note also Stage 2 weight reduction not Stage 3

The metafore 'handles like a beached sperm whale' indicates that it doesn't handle, at all. lol I should have clarified. It just slides through turns as if on ice. Also, when I try out setups, I try to utilize as much of the same components as the tuner, so yes I was using the original suspension, etc. I had to slow down to as low as second gear to maneuver through corners that I normally could have taken in 4th. I don't think it has anything to do with the actual settings you use other than I don't have the Driving Force Pro, although your Mustang GT setting worked well. -shrugs-
This had nothing to do with what you think, if you even think at all.

I don’t know what is happening, like this time I signed on it is not given me the icon for edit. Sometimes it does others it doesn’t.

Use LSD on a sub-400hp car? There aren’t many of them in that category that need it and the few that do are mostly FF drivetrains. It would just be a waste to purchase it for this car and it wouldn’t benefit enough from it.

The springs are set tight so you must have meant the shocks right?

Cool, now I am with you. I will take another look into it tonight. I was able to take the turns pretty quick myself. Can you give me a test track and the average times with the hot lap? This may be a difference between the DFP and DS2 but I would still like to work on it. Thanks for the help.
Edited in: Best to email me with that info.

adzefc - I'd appreciate if you advertise your site elsewhere (link in your sig), as it's purpose is basically the same as GTVault.

The setup handles well to me. I use a DS2..so it may just be that you're pushing the car too hard. If you still experience sliding try increasing TCS and tightening up the stabilizers.

I thought about that, but if he is just pushing the car to hard why would he need to downshift so much?
@Ne0nDrag0n: What are the corners you are taking rated at? What is the gear you are taking them in? What I mean by rated is; what is the flashing red gear light saying you need to be at, you know that red number we all ignore?

90% of the time, I test at Infineon Sports Car, unless someone has posted a time at a specific track for me to guage myself against. A few corners I had problems with at Infineon would be the S curves after the Start/Finish line, the long, descending left hander...and the switchbacks before the hairpin. I remember usually having to go a gear lower than the Red gear indication. I drive with manual transmission controlls, so I tend to pay attention to what numbers are flashing around. I do have a tendency to over-drive...fast in, slow through, fast out...attacking apexes, what have you. I'll give this setup a second chance and drive like I've got some sense and report back any new findings this evening.
This had nothing to do with what you think, if you even think at all.

@adzefc: What? I disagree with Kerr in that I don’t see them as being the same, but instead of starting a debate I choose to say nothing more than:

And what was the sarcasm (the “rolling eyes sarcastically” smiley) about? If you don't like the setup than I encourage feedback.

OK, so..I tried this setup again. It seemed a little more well behaved, yet I kept going off track in the same exact places. My very first lap was a 1'43.648...I ran 11 laps afterwards, never matching that time. I retract my previous statement and say this: It's decent.

Quite simply, I don't advertise copycat sites. You can mince words all you want, but at it's core, gt4tuneshop is nothing more than that. I don't go to your site and pimp mine because there is no need to.

Umm, well after running it on Infineon – Sports Car Course I came up with average laps of 1’43.xxx and a hot lap of 1’42.389. I will need a bench mark to go against at this point as this seems pretty tight to me. Especially when you consider this is a road setup so it will not max out on any one course, but it should be able to run on any you need it to! Also I noticed that the auto is set wrong for Infineon, as with any other Road Setup the auto may need adjusting for the track.
