This borrows from BobbyG27's Miata 1800RS setup. It's meant to replicate the white Racing Beat Miata featured in Sport Compact Car. Way back in 1998, this car pulled over 1g on their skidpad, and remains one of the fastest cars they've ever tested in the slalom. The real car was a 1.8L, but with its white five spoke wheels, the 1600 NR-A looks a bit more like the real thing.

With an oil change, sports exhaust and sports computer, this car should make somewhere in the 160-ish horsepower range. Power is low and the car is pretty balanced, so you needn't bother with ASM and TCS.

Like my Techno Pro Spirits MR-S replica, this car flies though the turns. Since it weighs more and has less power, the Miata isn't quite as fast. You'll find that quite a corners can be taken flat out. It's so much fun! For a guy like me who's given up on getting 100%(just wasn't fun anymore), cars like this help keep things interesting. Hope you like it.

I made some adjustments after moving my PS2 over to the PC. Now that I look at my settings, they were pretty different. I also forgot that I had added a roll cage.

Nice work. You're right, this car handles very well. I found that an oil change, racing muffler, and the chip only got me about 144hp, so I added NA Tune stage 1. That gave me 165hp. Unfortunately, the car's performance isn't comparable to its handling prowess. More aggressive gear settings may aid this to a point. Regardless, I think you've done a very nice job. I, too, got bored trying to get to 100%. I've been sitting on 84% for months now. All I have left are the last 10 mission races and a handful of endurance races.
This had nothing to do with what you think, if you even think at all.

Thanks for the comments. I had forgotten about the power issue. I changed the setup to include a Stage 1 NA tune. I think that's what I had.

The real car didn't have a lot of power either. In fact, it might have even less than my replica. A power figure was never given in the SCC article, but the mods were very mild. I'll try messing with the gearing and see what I can do with this car.

I see what you mean about getting bored. I think we're around the same completion rate, too. Now I want to just build a lot of good 2P battle cars and beat the snot out of my friends.

Well, I'm interested in seeing what you've got in store next. I'm liking these 'real world' setups. 2player battles are fun but unfortunately, I don't have anyone to play against. lol Most of my time is spent attempting to get lower lap times.
