You’ve got to be kidding right? I got this one as an email request, it wasn’t on my “cars to do” list but since I was between setups I figured why not? This thing almost left me in tears; but enough whining right?

This TVR has too much power with the Supercharger, it has brakes in spades but since you are hitting 100+ in the blink of an eye it won’t help you in a last minute dive to the corner. This setup will take a few laps to get used to, just try to follow these tips:

1) Watch your speed; you are going MUCH faster than you think.
2) You got the brakes but don’t get over confident, see #1 for why!
3) I built in PLENTY of throttle on oversteer, you will need it!
4) Don’t use this setup on Seattle or tracks that specialize in jump bumps. I managed Nurburgring but only by keeping a cool hand and steady foot.

TCS is not for launch control, it is to reduce tire spin so feel free to turn it down. It really made me sick to use so much but since this is a road setup…

One more thing.

If you are using the DS2 and this setup isn’t working (there is usually a difference) let me know. I will be happy to work with you to find a solution but I will need a test track, average times, and hot lap so we can be on the same sheet of music. I can’t guarantee anything though, if I thought I could I would have added a suggestion for the DS2 in the comments section.

Ya I think you are onto something with lowering the brakes for the DFP-to-DS2 setups but I am not sure why that would work? The only thing I can figure is that it has to do with the sensitivity level; for example I rarely us the full pedal length when racing. Roll Eyes Sarcastically No seriously I don’t; but, I tune so I can have the extra when I need to stomp on the brake.

It should be alright for Mountain but I didn’t test there. Only the really major jump points should give a problem. As for Seattle and the likes this car will need a dedicated setup for those types of tracks. The frame on this car is just weird and I can’t put my finger on why? It is almost as if PD gave this thing a flaw for jumps Angry . Before posting this [setup] I had been working on that problem, the only thing I had come up with is pretty much the obvious:

1) A setup for jumps (on this car at least) must not have the rigidity added.
2) The springs and the re/bound settings will need to be set so soft the yaw will be screwy for normal racing.

I am guessing that a semi-racing suspension would be better, but guess what you can’t buy? Almost forgot, if you are getting some problems on Mountain jack the height by 10 clicks. If you still need a little more give drop the front and rear springs by 1 (10 clicks).

Happy to hear it! Good feedback is well…good, but I could use some negative feedback with any of my setups so I can improve on them. Nod

I haven't used the setup, but here is an idea.

Since the car makes about 800-1100 HP through 70% of the RPM range, and it seems to want to shift like a grandma no matter the upgrades, why not cut down on the shifting alltogether? use the transmission trick and you can do 120MPH+ in first gear and it doesn't really cause problems. Of course I used this on the nurb, where you aren't slowing down much below 50MPH, but on road courses it might be tough to dig it out from 25 with the 1st gear stretched so far... The biggest problem I have is that I have a lead foot. I know people who can go sub 6:00 in this on the nurb with this beast. I think it is one of the best production cars you can get. Big Grin

This setup isn't bad but overall, the R390 road car is a better vehicle. I actually used the supercharger for your setup and it worked fine. Probably about as stable as you can make this car. Thumbs Up

absolute monster!

i left the brakes without a controller, cos i use the DS2, and they worked just fine, i'm sure they could be fiddled with for DS2 users but i'm far too lazy, that's someone else's job!

anyway fantastically tamed Thumbs Up (votes for you)

by the way i tried what mike???? said about gear ratios, its interesting, it could probably do with three gears to cut down the shifting, say one somewhere between 2nd and 3rd now, one around 4th and another gear thats huge used as overdrive for hitting top speeds

someone may wanna try it, again i can't be bothered...
the glass is not half full as the optimists may say
neither is it half empty as the pessimists will have you believe
its just twice as big as it needs to be, yup that's right, i'm a realist

try my new MX-5 two-player battle set-up
