Not to say that 1,000,000 credits is a "budget" car, but this thing can run with the best once tuned. The stock settings had me worried, but this thing zips around like a hornet now. The only thing I do not know about currently is tire life. I bought Hards just in case they are needed. Let me know if you find out before I post an update.

The tranny is to where it will max out on Mulsanne Straight without getting "kicked down" by the fuel cut off. Fun as hell to drive...... in a beastly way. Feedback wanted! Still a bit squirrelly on Nurburgring.

UPDATE: Lowered rear spring rate to help with no throttle understeer in corners.

It’s not the fuel cutoff my friend, it’s the rev limiter. There really shouldn’t be one but PD built it in to avoid having to program in a model of blowing up ones engine. Eek Nod

Its always been my unserstanding that the rev limiter IS the fuel cut off. To stop the revs the engine cuts off fuel......

Just did some research and I think I'm right. http://www.answers.com/fuel%20cut%20off%20rev%20limiter

On another note, I respect your work on here DTW, I would really appreciate knowing how you feel about the setup and what could make it better.

The fuel is getting cutoff; I didn’t mean to make it sound like you were wrong. What I meant to say (and did a poor job saying it) is that the common term I grew up with and always hear is to refer to it as the rev limiter. I suppose it would just depend on the individual but you are honestly the first person who I have heard refer to it as such. I would love to take a closer look at your setup, but I need to find the time first. Little personal time is also why I haven’t had a new setup posted in a while.

mx512p- Thanks for the positive feedback! It makes my time spent very rewarding. Glad you liked it!

DTW- First off take all the time you need and I hope all is well. As for the rev limiter/ fuel cut off thing- I'm equally familiar with both terms. Its just that my two favorite magazines (Car&Driver and Automobile) usually use the term fuel cut off so thats what I'm used to. Actually for about the past year or so, Automobile has a cool graph of each car's tach that has a line representing the red line, and another line past that representing the "fuel cut off". Its all symantics I suppose Wink Take care

Nice start on the set up. I agree it is a bit loose on the rear. I increased LSD to 20/40/10 and lightened the springs on the rear end. I now have a little more control. Still testing. A vote for you. Thumbs Up

Thanks a lot for the positive feedback H20sKT! I'm still testin her too. I'm determined to make this car work. The dynamics on the thing are just so odd. I decreased the LSD to help it dart around more, but I will check out what you did and see if it sparks some more creativity on this thing. Thanks again, man!

H20sKT- I lightened the spring rate in the rear to 9.2 down from 10.2. It seems it help bring the rear back into line a bit better when cornering under no throttle. How far did you lower it? I left the LSD settings where they were, as it seemed to increase understeer to increase them. However anyone should increase them if they find it helpful. Let me know.

Vertigo Race Car
Nachtjager - I am in the middle of the F-1 series, which is absurd and insanely difficult. As soon as I finish all 15 marathon races, I will check the set-up. Have you completed the F-1 races? I still have yet to figure out how to change the oil on the Polyphony F-1 car. Any comments? Confused

You can't change the oil in the F-1, it is a "special" car. Damn PD and their rules! Disgusted

Sorry H20sKT- I haven't gotten the F1 car yet. Last night I finally got around to beating the GT World Championship to unlock the extreme events. I think I'm only at 36% or something or other.

DTW- This whole PD "special car thing" is absurd. Why can't I race with my Caterham I bought last night? Can't even use it in 2 player. Why put cars in the game you cant use other than puttin' around by yourself. Have you had a chance to try the setup yet?

I love this car, and this setup makes it even better. It stays on the track now Thumbs Up .
I think polyphony didn't want you to use the Caterham in races because it would destroy all 40+ versions of the Skyline they included in the game Smirk . That car is amazing.
When driven properly a 911 can do magical things...

Thanks a lot Kiss_my_Exhaust! I haven't tuned too many cars lately, so its really nice to come back on and see someone likes what you've done.

The only actual excuse I've been able to come up with for PD is that they couldn't render the driver's movements in the Caterham with the other cars present on the track. And that may be a stretch. Anyone that has the Caterham knows its all a sham Smirk

all of the convertibles can't race in 6 car moode with their tops down-just that the cat's got no way to add a roof + glass...

2-car mode on the other hand-PD dropped the ball with the cat...
