It’s a Viper with a soft top! What more could you ask for; other than better brakes that is. As with all Vipers the brakes are sadly lacking but feel free to play with them. The settings I use here came from testing and are the best I could find. I was really happy with how this car lays down the power with so little wheel spin, well I say little compared to some other street cars in this hp range. I chose the stage one weight reduction because this thing needed to go on a diet, but losing more than this introduced more problems than it was worth. Push up to a stage two or three if you want, but you are getting into another realm of handling not well suited for the chassis of a soft top with this much power.
Understeer below 150 is gone but over that speed you will need to do a throttle lift or kiss the road goodbye. Due to the yaw of this car it handles jumps (Seattle) well but uneven jumps or dips (the Ring or El Capitan) can send it out of control. Still even at Seattle you will need to take a practice run to get a feel of the jump or you will land past the braking point and hit the wall.
Driving this Viper is as much an art as tuning it was.
Port polish and engine balance added.
TCS is to reduce wheel spin, setup for the DFP.
Dodge Viper! Proving once again that American Power needs a VERY straight road!
I haven't got the DFP yet (I'm going to buy it for my birthday in december), so I tried your setup using the normal dualshock 2 controller. well, what could I say? with your settings I ran 2 seconds faster than with other guys' setups!! Tested at Suzuka.
great work DTW, vote for you...
greetings, MX
P.S. I hope you're going to post a setup for the GTSR Concept too
Thanks for the feedback, and you will enjoy the DFP. It may take a little time to get used to the steering and throttle/brake input but don’t get frustrated. I would suggest using the free run mode to practice with. As for the GTSR Concept I have started a new game recently so it will be awhile before I get to it. Once I do I will post the setup since I am still looking for a stronger Viper to race with.
