Tuned at Laguna Seca for Driving Force Pro.

Ran 1' 29.781 on R3 tires with 328 Hp from a Stage 2 Turbo tune, 9/12/05.

I've worked on this car for quite a while,........ started from scratch once.
I've got it to where it is steady and/or slides neutral at Laguna Seca, but.......
it is loose as hell at the Nurburgring. I have some more work on this one, and am open to ideas. I'll give both tracks another try before I move on to another car.

2002 Turbo retune.........
I've been up and down the spectrum on this car spring rate, damping, toe, camber, sway bars, you name it and this is the best I can come up with. The car drives alright, but,...... a slight understeer gives way to a more general oversteer that can be kept in check with throtle control. What I have here is a great "Drift" setup whether I want one or not.

I slipped and slid trough a clean lap at the Nurburgirng, 7' 23.084 , (remember 328 hp).

I'm gonna give this one a rest for a while,..... and get back to it later on. Sure would like some help getting this one in check,......... start with my settings and let me know which way to go.

I am going to take a look at this one again as this is one of my favorite cars on the game and in life. I would have explored it sooner but things got a little messy down here in NOLA last year. Will post my findings later . . . .

BTWhite - I have one question . . . . how did you arrive at your gear ratios with the final gearing and autoset? Other than that, I have tried your setup and agree that it is a bit too loose for my tastes. I also agree that there seems to be so many changes to the suspension without any true drastic time/performance benefit. The best I can come up with is as follows:

Brakes 7/5
TCS 2
Springs 8.2/9.8
bound 4/4
rbound 5/7
Hgt 115/120
camber 2.8/1.5
stabilizer 4/5
tranny - 3.55 final autoset 10

With these changes to the car, I was able to smooth out the corners a bit. I used the "Trial Mountain" as a test track. With my settings, which by no means are anywhere near perfect, I was able to gain 21 seconds after three laps over your settings. I still feel that the changes made need tweaking, but I really do not know where to to turn. I appreciate the foundation you laid for the vehicle and voted for the set up. - KTW Thumbs Up

H20sKT, Thanks for the great feedback. I will consider the "ball in my court". I will adopt your settings and see where we can go next. Thanks much for your vote, and I'll get back to you after my next go around with GT4, Later, Brian

Gear Ratios
H2OsKT,

For the trans ratios, I used the GT3/GT4 Tranny Trick to adjust for tighter more useful gears. Click on "Knowledge Base" in the Navigation block in the left margin of this page, (two below Home) for a full description and how to. Final drive ratio of 4.000 for Trial Mountain. Final of 3.700 for the 'Ring.

I ran a comparison on the Trial Mountain Ckt. I'm going to run the same deal at the Nurburgring and then I'll post my result,...... I'm thinking a mix of both our settings is panning out well.

Final Tune.........
OK, Here it is. H20sKT and I got together compared notes and here is my best melding of the two setups. Please keep in mind that this is for the Drivng Force Pro wheel/pedal combo.

I ran the Nurburgring Nordschleife with the above setup. Rear ratio at 3.700.
I was able to run a 7' 19.850 on R3/R3 tires with 328hp.

Fun car to drive,..........sketchy at the limit,.... but fun.

I'm working on this car as well, but how much of your performance is based on racing tires? I'm doing mine with sport soft, and I have the rear end coming out a lot more than what you got(just by looking at the settings). What is your car like without the extra rubber?

S3 Tires...........

If I remember correctly, I came to these settings after runing on R3 and then S3 tires as I normally do with a setup. Odd that I didn't post any S3 info. I'll give it a run again on S3 tires at Laguna Seca today and post what I found later today. Until then..............

2002 Turbo retune......... Again!
Back at it.................
Trying to set this car up for S3/S3 tires. Lowered the Hp to 275, (Stage 1), and raised the TCS to 2.

Made some changes to allow for some front end bite that this car is missing. I seem to have the tail happy side of this car in order but at a price. It plows like a "John Deere". Nachtjager seems to still be fighting with oversteer for which I added a degree negative rear toe.

Ran a 1' 37.162 at Laguna Seca on S3 tires. 7/23/06

Can't say that I'm satisfied with the end product ........ but something tells me I'll be back.

Nachtjager: Be sure to get back to me on what you came up with........ This car handles like junk on S3s. Your using a DFP, right?
