I got the LSD numbers from BTWhite37's setup

I wanted to create a replica of Porsche's legendary 956/962 racecar. The 962 is the current record holder at the 'ring with a time of 6:11.130 set during a practice run in 1983. This 800bhp beast also won LeMans 7 times before the FIA banned it. I got the black version of the 787b so it looked more like the 962. The gears aren't setup for top speed, it tops out at 226mph, about four mph slower than the 962s that ran in LeMans

Top Speed: 226mph
400m: 8.901 sec (nitrous)
1000m: 15.108 (nitrous)

Fast Laps: (no nitrous)
Infineon Stock Car Course: 1:02.954
Infineon Sports Course: 1:19.507
LaSarthe 1(chicanes): 3:17.989
LaSarthe 2(no chicanes): 3;04.020
Nurburgring: 5:52.092

All comments and criticism welcome. I used the DS2, so you could probaly get some faster times with the DFP. I'll update it later with more lap times.

tranny trick?
hi,

did you use the tranny trick for the transmission setup? if so, please explain one more time because i still don't understand.

i did le mans II on qualifiing tires in a new 787 with your setup and transmission on preset 20 and endstage 3.500 (3592-2160-1464-1058-0814) in 3.04.548 with the ds2, but i cut off the chicane just before the finish.

I used the tranny trick for the transmission. I slid the final all the way to the right (5.000), then i slid the auto set to 2, then i adjusted the final to where i wanted it. Most people slide the auto set to 1. After you slid the final to the right then the autoset to the left you can adjust the final for different tracks, towards the left for tracks with long straights (LaSarthe the 'ring) or to the right for shorter tracks (Laguna Seca, Tsukuba). I left the final on my setup at 3.350 because I don't like figuring out a final drive ratio for each track so I picked one that gives a decent top speed and good accleration in all gears. If you're using this setup on LaSarthe you'll probaly want to use a taller final (3.200-3.000) to get a higher top speed.

Good luck, and thanks for the feedback
When driven properly a 911 can do magical things...

I couldn't find the supercar of my dreams, so I made it~Ferdinand Porsche
