decided to tune a euro-r after watching a best motoring video and seeing one that was tuned by Phase. at first i had the spring rates at f. 14kg and r 8kg (just like phase), and dialed in a bunch of camber (just like phase). after driving this on the 'ring, i realized that the suspension was 1) was too stiff, and 2) had too much understeer for my liking. so i changed the rates around a bit, but kept the camber angles. i find that most japanese suspension setups have strong front spring rates, and rely on heavy trail braking to rotate the car in a corner, where as north american setups usually have strong rear rates to rotate the car and do all the braking before entering the corner. i decided the latter more suited my driving style, so i tuned accordingly. i did all the suspenion setup on Nurumburgring where the car lapped at 8'32.560. i tried tuning the LSD on citta di aria where it ran 1'48.256. as is i'm happy with the suspension, but i find the LSD could use some work. if anyones has sugestions, or know a good LSD setup for FF cars, let me know. |
