Have you ever tried tuning with the Full Race Spec suspension-

The level of control is shocking Eek

The original works better than the race setup. Thats why the makers of the game only allow the ricers to have them. Without the special suspension they wouldnt be able to compete with the British, German, American and Ausi cars.
