No oil change performed (default power amount). This was to keep the transmission settings consistant even over long distance racing.

I decided to go for a little more fun and speed with this setup as opposed to my other consistancy-based setups. This car can be a handful—especially on tracks with bumps and/or undulations.

The transmission was set up for any track. 6th gear redlines right at the aerodynamically-limited top speed of 202mph. To get the proper ratios:

- 1. Start with the default gearbox settings
- 2. Move the Auto slider to 25 (far right)
- 3. Move the Final slider to 5.000 (far right)
- 4. Move the Auto slider to 1 (far left)
- 5. Move the Final slider to 2.735
- 6. Adjust 1st through 6th gears to their indicated values

The suspension was set up for maximum response at corner entrance and minimum understeer at corner exit. I was particularly impressed with overall cornering speed and especially corner exits. I found I could open the throttle very early.

Braking is a bit dissapointing; I expected more stopping power from a car like this! I chose to go with a rear-biased setup in favor of corner entries. It can be scary when braking with steering input, but again, this setup isn't for consistancy!

I tried to get a lap in at the Nürburgring at a quick pace, but failed to do it cleanly. The car is just way too skittish over crests to get consistant, fast laps. I believe this is a downforce issue, and I can't really do anything about that! A solid lap should be in the 6'20 range. I'm going to say this is a road setup minus the Nürburgring... too bumpy!

Test laps:
1'53.849 - Suzuka Circuit
1'30.890 - Tokyo Route 246

[July 27 2006] Updated the gearbox settings for even closer ratios. To adjust the spread for each track (and I strongly reccomend this), simply use the Final slider.

Nice, I like it better without the roll cage though and I lowered the rear brake to 7.

Run the Nurburgring & post your times!

I trying to find out if my times are fast or slow { After running over 100 laps, I know the track pretty well, with consistent sub-8 second times in most of my 534 cars{ I have many duplicates-just can't help buying from the 2nd hand garages}}

Thanks for the comments Smile

Something tells me this setup is a bit too loose to be considered a "general road setup".

Loose

Well I'm sure you know what your doing but I tried a few things to tighten her up a little.

front ride to 97, front camber to 2.5, and rear stab to 3.

An LSD would tighten things... say 10/30/15, haven't tried it though.

Yes, I can imagine those settings would work effectively to tighten things up. I suppose I try too hard to overcome GT4's inherent understeer on the flatter tracks and end up with something far too nervous in general Embarrassment

Perhaps I should toy around with the balast settings to find what I desire...

Hmm; I estimated that a decent lap on R3 (racing medium) tires would come out in the 6'20 range.

As for a stock NSX-R, your time is pretty good for sports soft tires.

6'20 for my setup. I'm not sure what a stock NSX-R could manage on R3s.

and one more thing.. i just love time attack with stock cars..

i was able to run a stcok DC5 with sport soft tyres on Tsubuka circuit and got a 1'06'3

it was the best time i coudl get.. im trying to get it in the 1min 5 but it seems impossible for eme..

coz a friend of mine has an older bro who got a 1'05'9 but his version is the NTSC

so yeah...

knowing from PAL TO NTSC .. there's a 5 fps difference.. but not really sure

so yeah..

There is a ~5fps difference between PAL and NTSC signals, but the game has been internally balanced out so as to minimize the difference. The game's physics and rendering rates are adjusted. This is why PAL and NTSC games/systems aren't compatable. The actual differences are negligible in most situations (areas like quarter mile times being an exception).
