This is not the 'R' set-up I was talking about on my previous HC entry but is a work-up towards that.

I liked her handling and tyre-wear balance so much tho' that I thought I'd post what I've got so far.

There's some understeer but that's deliberate promoting stability into Schwedenkreuz, allowing a fast Angst Kurve and letting you go flat out through Pflanzgarten without breaking a sweat :D.

The gears are a bit of a compromise as I'd like 3rd to be longer for the Kallenhard-Wehrseifen section but it works so well for providing 'punch' elsewhere I'll live with the brief change up to 4th and then down again.

To trim off the understeer, I'd suggest trying dropping the LSD A and some rear downforce but I'm happy with her as she is.

Whether the basics will survive adding a Roll Cage and R-grade tyres only testing will tell .

The 'R' Type experiment is on hold until I figure out what on earth is going on with the GT physics engine.

I added the Roll Cage, which made the handling sharper and counteracted the earlier understeer. I then put on R2 tyres, quite a jump from the earlier S2's and the car turned into a snap oversteering nightmare Eek

I had expected the Racing Tyres to induce understeer because of high-grip if anything because they wouldn't let the back-end slide nicely through slip-angle. Instead, if you touch the brakes, even with the steering straight, the rear tries to overtake the front.

Confused and annoyed at present and remembering why I love GT on Road and Sports tyres whilst hating it on Racing tyres Big Grin.

EDIT: Ah, that turned out to be an easy fix. It was some strange mismatch between the mechanical grip algorithms and the aerodynamic. I tweaked the downforce and all was well.

I just need to fine tune it to my taste now Big Grin.

SECOND EDIT: The major culprit for the hideous snap-oversteer turned out ot be the Rear Bound. The stiffened chassis and grippier tyres combined to make the traction break unexpectedly because the contact patch was being forced to accept too much load too quickly - at least that's my theory Big Grin.
