A little slower overall than my earlier 'amped up' Esprit 350 tune but much easier to drive.

She handles the bumps and lumps of the 'Ring quite calmly and altho' I've built her with some inherent understeer for safety she will quite happily let you haul on the lock to tighten a turn (shedding some mph to do so).

I have an unprovable theory that all other Esprit models in the game are 'ported' GT3 versions and have some flaws that make them so twitchy in their GT4 guise. All I can say is that this V8 2002 model is the one I would choose out of the Esprit range for any lengthy race in the game. Not so speedy as the 350 but much more likely to survive lap after lap.

Okay, I'm mystified.

Last night when I posted this up, the set-up performed as advertised ... tonight I can't keep her on the track Eek!

Either I was in the groove previously and off the boil now or something is amiss in the game. I've noticed before that a set-up can seem to vary from game-start to game-start, so it may be plausible but the difference with this is extreme.

Also, rear tyre wear is much worse than I estimated. Two laps of the 'Ring is not really possible at race-pace. Drop the compounds to R2's, at least on the rear but be aware of what that will do to the handling.

I did a restart of the PS2 and G25 which seemed to iron oout most of the nasty bugs.

I had to tweak a few things to counter the R2 rubber:

Camber: 1.5/1.0
Toe: -2/+0
Stabaliser: 2/3

The braking performance was reduced too and the balance may well need adjustment but I was just glad to get her driveable again Big Grin.

She's not as great as she behaved last night and is 10-15 seconds slower but a lap finished ...
