Gran Turismo 5 North American release date - November 24, 2010
Updated 11/13/2010 12:29 PM
The US Playstation Blog has a post up confirming November 24, 2010 as the North American GT5 release date. Given all the prior posts and context, this looks like the real deal!
Here's an interesting thought: The GT5 launch is just two days after the 9 year anniversary of the GTVault launch on November 22, 2001. Is anyone from those days still around?
Thanks to MasterGT for the link.

GT5 Release Date

That link also contain the track and car list from the official GT website. A lot of GTP members have been complaining about the track list. No Apricot Hill, Midfield or New York tracks to name but a few that are missing according to the list.
GT5 will have a track editor/design feature so depending on how strong the tool is we may be able to create our own versions but having said that it does leave space for PD/Sony to hit us with some DLC knowing full well that the hardcore GT fans will probably pay up.
The car list is OK, seems like a lot of GT3/4 cars are back with over "1000" cars. Well I say 1000 but that can probably come down a little when you consider that there are 51 skylines, duplicated MX5's and evo's from years gone by.
Biggest disappointment for me is no new Ford Fiesta, my car in real life which I can drive in Forza 3 but not GT5 I can however drive a 2001 Ford KA

Yeah I've been reviewing these lists since they were released too. The omission of the tracks noted, especially Midfield, leaves me wanting. I'm unsurprised about the car list with the myriad Skylines, etc., as that's now considered a pattern of behavior for PD.
I didn't expect my daily driver, a 1991 Honda Prelude Si, to be in list... but it is.

Not sure what to believe from the GTP forum but a few people have the full game already. No idea how but video's keep appearing on the site and on youtube from one guy named Tekken.
Something else that caught my eye in this thread.

The Car Dealership (NOTE: it is a random dealership like in GT PSP)

I've never played GT PSP as I don't own one. Was car availability updated weekly like it was in GT4, or was it truly random?

It changed every 3 in game days, it gave you a few manufactures with a list of cars available to buy. It seemed to be random but apparently it was worked out depending on what car the game started you with. Again members of GTP with to much time on there hands lol
A bit rubbish really because if you didn't have the money for a car you wanted you would have to wait for it to come up again. The current level thing seen in that GT5 picture at least gives some hope that the cars wont vanish as you "rank up" Will have to wait and see.

Right, at this point I'm taking all information as speculative. I really hope the purchase system doesn't give the randomized choices like you explain in GT PSP.

Hey everyong, it has been a long time since I posted here but, oh man, i feel like a kid the day before Christmas. I am really excited about road racing Carl Edwards Fusion and tuning the Grand Touring Mustang. Can you tell I bleed Ford blue?
It is cool that my favorite track, Deep Forest, is included.
Soon the sleepless nights will begin!

@FORDSIXTY - It's been a very long time, how are you? It's nice to see some familiar faces pop back in. Indeed, Deep Forest is something I can't wait for!

Howdy Kerr, i am great, thanks for asking. How are you? Your site is still awesome. i do not envy your position now that 5 is finally coming out. Although it could be easier (?) with all the recycled cars. 51 Skylines? Poly has fallen on it's head. i am still really excited to get this started.
Thanks GT for posting the Youtube link.

I'm doing well, busier than ever and unfortunately not nearly as much time for gaming as I've had in years past. Honestly, I'm pretty excited that GTVault is still around after almost 9 years. Most websites last but a small fraction of that before going through a major upheaval or disappearing entirely. The GT5 updates are going to be crazy, though it would be a godsend if the bulk of the cars end up having the same stats.
Indeed, way too many Skylines as usual! There is no other game that is so skewed in this way. People may defend the decision, though when looking at percentages (literally 5% Skylines), the point cannot be argued away.

Congratulations on your sites longevity. Almost 9 years; when is its ninth anniversary?
And remember, do not let work kill you.

I know you will.
Isn't that the same day GT1 was released? Hey a quick question, I still have to go buy a PS3 and would like the Titanium Blue Racing Edition, you haven't heard any rumblings about it being made available here in the US have you?

Have fun while you race others. If you don't why are you racing in the first place?
Just realized I have a year and a half left in college.
I'm at GTPlanet now.

The list of tracks currently available is apparently the initial list of tracks you get in Arcade mode. More tracks will be unlocked as you progress through the game.
Cars at start of Arcade Mode: 240
Tracks available at start of Arcade Mode:
Single Races
World Circuits 8/19
Original Circuits 9/13
City Courses 5/11
Dirt & Snow 3/7
ps. - Happy Birthday GTVault !

I was going to be the 1st to post in this cause I saw it up for a few days b4 tonight without any posts, but didn't know or decide what to say, but now I do. I'm a Mustang owner, and heard, Saw and read that there will be V6 mustangs of every year except 2002, whats the deal and is this true? I drive an 02 v6 stang and can't find any models, not pics, nor anything out in the world for 02, I mean the hobby shop I go to even they with the models skip from 01 to 03, it pisses me off so much...

100% release date?
Posted 11/15/2010 2:04 PM
went to Playstation.com more specifically http://us.playstation.com/games-and-media/gameslist/index.htm?type=Games&subCategoryType=console&subCategoryValue=PS3 if you highlight GT5 it says 12/2010 but if u click on the game and look at the release date there, it says 11/2010. so it seems even they are confused lol

@FORDSIXTY - Sorry, I've not been up on the various incarnations of the console since buying my old style PS3 shortly after release.
@zeratul - That's too bad about your work travel, I'm sure you'll make up for it upon your return though.
@Draghon - I've seen multiple sources, Amazon included, who are corroborating the November 24th release date. Looks like Sony needs to update their search results page.
@Fumes - Thanks, I was hoping you'd be back around for GT5! I'm interested to see how unlocks work in career mode.
