Notes:

* It seems the key to Pit Strategy is to keep up with adjustment of "Rear Toe". So far I've had different rear toe settings for each race. The more negative the setting the better the slow corner handling, but you sacrifice rear tire wear. The less negative and closer to a zero setting, the more laps you'll get between pit stops.

Circuit de la Sarthe I (race #6) is very bumpy. I softened the springs (17.5/18.5), raised the ride height (53/55). Overall the downforce was a bit less due to the ride height change which allowed the car to top out a bit more on the straights. Toe of -2 allowed the rear tires to last six laps between pits but left it a bit loose on worn tires, beware! I expect the same for "The 'Ring".

Nurburgring Nordschleife (race #12) is even more bumpy. You'll be replacing the skid plates on your F1 after this race, for sure. I softened the springs (17.0/18.0), raised the ride hieght (56/58), softened the shocks (SB 6/7 and SRB 8/9). All this in an attempt to keep the car on the track. I found out that F1 cars have no bussiness at the 'Ring!!

Fuji Speedway 2005 (race #14) was a lesson in fuel management. I'm convinced that the car will run faster on lighter fuel loads, My fasest lap time was when running very low on fuel. Throughout the series I've been refueling every other pit cycle in order to save time in the pits. In this race I began taking on only the fuel I would need to complete the two cycles. My last refuel was on lap 51 where I took on only six (of ten) tick marks of fuel. My goal was to hit the finish line bone dry,......... I miscalculated,....... going into turn one on the last lap I ran out. The car defaults to 50 mph max and limps back to the pits,.or in this case the finish line. I was up two laps on the field allowing me to finish and win,........ one more tick of fuel would have done it,......... Overall time reflects a very slow 67th lap. Good lesson learned,..... Look forward to playing with this some more at Suzuka (race#15).

I recorded the car milage at the start of the first race and end of the last.............
Total Milage: 3,222 for the entire 15 race series.

Brian - Thanks for keeping the Knowledge Base up to date with your Endurance excursions. I have to say, you have a lot more patience than I do with the Endurance races. I know you mention the tranny trick in numerous setups. Would a KB post on the tranny trick itself make sense?

Great setup BT! I've found that to be true about the negative camber too. Hey does anybody out there know where I could get a DVD copy of the F1 race at Indianapolis. I've surfed the net a little bit but can't find a copy of the entire race. I went to that race and man watching them on TV doesn't give them half the justice that they desrve!! Any feedback would be appreciated!

If I took that notion and applied it to GTVault, well, there wouldn't be a GTVault. I've always been of the mind that more detail is better than not enough.

Not over the top at all, very well explained, I have guessed on the setups to use, for the rest of the races, that you have not completed yet, based on the setups for the races that you already completed and in doing so, I have won all but two races and won 1 place overall.

So once again, thanks for the tranny trick and the setup help.....Cd

Question here?

The more you race it, the more the resale value goes down, and it also seems to me that the faster it dies in the long races.

Is it just me, or has anyone else noticed this happening?

Thanks .... Cd

It's hard to say it with scientific certainty...

But I think you're right. I don't know how one could say this for certain, but in the long races I get the same feeling.

CD..........Kerr, I dunno.......... I havn't tried to sell one of the F1 cars to find out.......... I'm through 7 of the 15 F1 races without the oil change light going on. I know that we're not able to run the F1 cars through any kind of upgrade or service. Other cars in other race series and endurance events have drastic Hp drop as the miles go up,........ and an oil change after the race doesn't always bring it back up to the original HP. I think that a "used" car is just that,........... A used car,. not a fresh one, and the resale value reflects. More on this as my F1 series goes on,... I'm keeping track of total milage for the series. Catcha, Brian

Brian, I understand what you are saying about the No services or Oil Changes here, because of that, your Oil light will not come on in the F1.

I have 3 of them left, two have Zero miles on them, and they sell for $1,593,749 each, the one that I use, it has 20,647.4 miles on it, and it sales for $1,218,749, or $375,000 less then the new ones.

Just like Kerr,I also seemed to have noticed that in the long races, that it now dies faster then it did when it had a lot less miles on it. Races that I had previously won by 2 laps against the same cars, I am now winning by only mere seconds, when (Bob) has increased almost 2,000 B-Spec points, therefore, He should be running faster races in it, instead of slower races, so I am wondering if the F-1's die, just like the rest of the cars in the game.

Just a thought running through my mind, cause I do have 2 other ones that I could use, and if it's performance is going to get continually worse, I might as well sell it now, to get more $$$'s out of it, then to wait much longer, and lose races, and get even less $$$'s out of it.

Just a Thought....

Thanks..... Cd

I have the one that I use, it is White with black stripes at the bottom....

I also have a white one with blue stripes on the bottom of it, and a solid blue one probably like yours.

I sold one of those black and green ones that always seem to race against me.

I have completed The Nur 4 times, and one other time I was at 19 hrs 42 mins when I had a power outage, have not tried it since then, I was Sooo Mad, lol.

Very good set-up indeed for the Super Speedway Thumbs Up .

I had tried for a couple of days to sort the F1 out so that I could 200 A-Spec the Formula GT Series whilst actually using a Formual GT. I got a workable set-up for Tokyo that helped mitigate the tendency to spin out in the chicane but when Motoegi came along I was lost Frown.

Nothing I tried helped so I searched the Net for clues and at first I wasn't sure whether to give your settings a trial or not - "Too stiff!" I was thinking. However, in the end I ventured a run or two. At first I found her a bit tricky but a few minor tweaks to suit me and even out the tyre wear made her practically perfect.

Well done - it's rare that someones set-up will work so well for someone else, especially when that someone else is running less downforce and carrying 183KG ballast, thus radically changing the parameters you tuned for Big Grin.

Brian I have now run 'The 24 Hour Nur' 3 more times so that I could post a setup for My Abt Audi Touring Car:

I won a solid red one, another solid blue one, and a Yellow one with black stripes.

Posted the setup, would appreciate feedback on it, since it is my first setup posted.

Sukerkin, Thanks for the positive comments and your vote. I've been muckin' my way through the F1 series for about a month now,............... Not as much time to race as I might like. Do you use the wheel/pedal controller with my setup or are you on the hand controller? I've found that my setup is very dependant on downforce as the tires begin to wear off. Keeing the speed up and hitting your marks allow this car to get a few extra laps on worn tires. Happy Racin', Brian

Hi BT

I drive using a G25 - can't praise the wheel too highly.

I'm moving through the Formula GT series at a glacial pace (ironic really) as I normally play around at the 'sports car' end of the spectrum using ballast and normal tyres and find adapting to such high speeds a bit tricky.

My problem at New York is that I can't get 10 laps out of the rears so I'll have to do a bit more adapting of your sterling work. Nothing wrong with the handling of the car tho', despite carrying the extra weight and running less wing.

Congrats once again.
