Haha, no problems mate, thank you very much for the vote!
I'm glad somebody is able to get through what was a horribly long and annoying championship, and not go mad from the ineptitude of B-spec to drive at all well.
Hopefully I can come back to this, finish off my qualy setups and go take it to GT5 and make it work there.

Oh good luck mate, the driving missions are really hard.
The slipstream challenge in skylines, keep the car in 5th gear, and well, you just have to get a bit lucky.
Mission 34 took me 2-3 hours of non stop driving and raging... I don't envy you!
The 24 hours at Lemans ae pretty straight forward, I have tunes for them but they aren't as good as my FGT b-spec setups. Hope they turn out well, and if ithings don't go too well, you can always use my Sarthe tune with the FGT!

Hi F1_Marius,

The gears are set up using what is known as the tranny trick, which modifies the way the gearbox takes its inputs, and changes the way the car shifts between gears.
To do the tranny trick here is the knowledge base link:
http://www.gtvault.com/gt4/kb-view/f_fid::24/The-Tranny-Trick---How-To-and-Why-/

Hopefully this fixes your problem.

Catch you around,

hey bro, thank you so much for sharing your set-up for your FGT car. the fastest lap of my B-spec is 5'49.114. I couldn't done it without your help, you are the best mechanical engineer here on GT racing Smile thank you so much Smile I kinda change the pit stop strategy cause I don't feel comfortable when my gas tank becomes half Smile so I kinda change the first stop, instead of no fuel i put fuel to it but at least 2 and half bar and the 2nd stop i try to put it on full tank but the 3rd one no fuel and the rest is your strategy Smile

I'm glad I was able to help you with the Nurburgring race, and your driver even went faster than mine!
I don't think I'm the best mechanical engineer here, but I certainly put the most effort into B-spec FGT guides Big Grin

So long as you win the race I don't really mind if you change the strategy for safety, being careful is never a bad thing. I'm very happy I was able to help, and I hope this guide will continue to help everyone out whenever people play GT4.

Only 3 rounds left for you!

Hi F1_Marius!

Apparently I have an A-spec setup for the Nurburgring and the C9, but from reading my notes I don't think I was too happy with it. It was for a driver/tuner challenge we held a while ago, and can be found here:
http://www.gtvault.com/gt4/setup-view/s_sid::8383/Mercedes-Benz-Sauber-Mercedes-C-9-Race-Car/

I lost that challenge to my good friend DjWess, who is a Nurburgring specialist, and gave me some tips on my FGT setup at the nurburgring.
His setup is here: http://www.gtvault.com/gt4/setup-view/s_sid::7598/Mercedes-Benz-Sauber-Mercedes-C-9-Race-Car/
His notes show that its tough to handle, but was 15 seconds a lap faster than I was.

These are A-spec, and I have no idea if they will work in B-spec.

Hopefully these can help you out, and I'm glad you liked my tunes, I put a lot of time into them, and I'm glad they are still useful even now!

I was playing GT4 the other day and decided to finish off the license tests... I forgot how hard they were!

thanks for the link, I'm really glad I found your profile here on GTVault, for me you are the one of the best tuners here. I'd like to give it a try to tune my own car but I keep on looking at your set ups because I have no experience in tuning cars. Smile

We all have to start somewhere.
I was lucky to find great tuners like Fumes, Dotini2001 and BTWhite37 who helped me massively in my early GT days. Fumes is most likely the best GtVault tuner, he has the most setup votes that's for sure.
Then credit goes to DjWess, MarkusXO, Brette and the GtVault tuner challenge guys. We competed against each other and all got better as a result.

Fumes also made a huge difference with this:
http://www.gtvault.com/gt4/kb-view/f_fid::21/GT3---GT4-Tuning-Guide/
Its his baseline tuning guide for most situations.

With that guide and the help of the people above, nearly 4 years later I've come a long way.
Thanks again for your encouraging words,
StigsTC

Yet another thank you post, this time to "Teh_Hicks" for a massive 23rd votes on my FGT setup; a setup which has continuously exceeded my expectations and has been a huge help teaching me about tuning where tiny changes have made a world of difference.
Thanks again Teh_Hicks!

Thank you very much Cheopz for your kind words, heaps of work went in to it, and I'm glad it can help you with a seriously annoying series.
Thank you again and good luck for the rest of GT4!

Greetings, allmighty stig.
i just used ur guide to bspec this event.

all went very well, exept for 2 things:
point 1: i never did understand how you could make speed on gear setup 1, even after adjusting the final ratio like u showed in the posts, i am shure an explanation is here in the thread somewhere, but i am yet to read it all. -EDIT: i found it, lol...- so i went with my intuition, and won the races, exept 1. which brings me to point 2:
the 15th race, suzuka, totally failed. upon pit entry on the 28th lap, i dont know what happened, but bspec bob hit the pit wall instead of driving into the pitlane. not once, but at least 5 times! eventually missing the pit completely and entered the 29th lap with weak tires and an empty tank. (45 secs lost at least here) halfway through lap 29 the car ran out of fuel, ofcourse, making it go 80km/h to the pitlane. result: a full lap behind the first car. -.-
as this was a lost cause, i quit the race. took my 3 mil and sauber, and will redo the race later on. this 15 races took me 2 weeks now, and i am dying to do other races now. i am glad i won the overall championship. but never could have done it without this thread. you did a hell of a job making this guide, and i deeply respect that. you got my vote on these setups (n° 25, a milestone!) and it' s well earned. congrats on a fantastic job well done! Thumbs Up

Thank you very much for your words, vote and summary of your efforts in the FGT championship PuffmaN.

The Auto Set of 1 for gears is using the tranny trick (See the Knowledge base) but as you said you figured it out.

As for the Suzuka problem I've never seen B-spec bob run into the pitwall, that is a glitch beyond my understanding. So long as your driver wasn't glitching through the esses he migt have got close to catching back that gap, as I was losing a second through sector 1 almost each lap. But in the end probably not that likely, but I'm glad you didn't have any problems until the last race, as if its just a weird glitch you should easily win it next time, so again I thank you for the 25th vote on the setup, andmy 90th overall on GtVault.

LeMans, New York,Cote d'Azur, Seoul, Infineon

Started B-speccing this, FGT, but failed in LeMans(6th), Cote d'Azur (2nd), New York and Seoul re-made 4 times, Infineon made me so mad that the B-spec moron kept on pitting stupidly early and going off and spinning everywhere so went on here to get a tune (Fumes, for B-spec).

Then I've driven the crap out of all races up to Nordschleife (which is the one I'm at atm).
Think I'll be using your setup and notes from here on and giving a vote just for interesting reading during night time the last two-three days. That way I don't have to pause every pitstop and calculate how much to refuel to have enough gas for upcoming stint, as well as it seems like you've also counted in traffic in your notes.

For LeMans I left and thought there was a restart possibility (nope).
Fell asleep during Cote d'Azur and it was already over when I woke up...
NY=W, 'cause I re-did it several times and finally won 'cause I "babysat" B-spec.
Seoul=Win. I was obviously lucky plus facts that I started working on a setup by myself and qualified before last run so my "B-spec Braindead" built up a lead due to me ordering him to speed up and speed down depending on where on the track he was at.

Infineon. I qualified, then started stint 1 by myself and didn't care about tires at all; just to build up maximum space between me and the AI's. Then let B-spec take over and did same as for Seoul.: Different pace depending on where on track he, B-spec, was...
