The May 2010 Edition of the tuner team challenge with a modded Mini Cooper (not a Cooper S or One) on Motorland - Forward/Reverse and Hong Kong - Forward Reverse. (My tune for the challenge is posted above. Used it for both tracks.)

The car is to have 220hp or under and Racing Tyres (R2's) as a requirement.
All other upgrades can be put on, but NO Nitrous.
2 Wheels must be on the ripple strip at all times. Any less and you must disqualify that lap. No wall contact is allowed.

This month's tuner challenge is team based, but people can participate solo by themselves. The format of the challenge shall consist of 2 rounds going for 2 weeks, each with a forward and reverse layout. Teams need to decide who to tune and drive in which direction for each round. Teams can also communicate anyway they want to so feel free to send messages over email. The winning team shall be the ones with the
lowest overall time from both drivers times added together.
The challenge is to end at the end of the month, at 23:59 on the 31st of May GTVault time... Tune needed 5 days after the end of challenge. No tune added 30 seconds to time.

First round is to be held at Motorland. Starts on the 6/5/10, ends on the 16/5/10.
Second round will be at Hong Kong. Starts on the 17/5/10, ends midnight of 31/5/10.

Thanks everyone for participating. Hope to see you all next month!

Well done to Team Rated M Drivers. DjWess and adeadsnipermatt have come on top after a hard fought months of driving and deserve the credit for winning. Top drivercredits go to adeadsnipermatt. Even though some of his best times weren't officially put up, he certainly was the fastest driver out there (with the exception of Jalvesque one lap of course!). One last worthy mention is to Uzairz with his one man team effort on his first month of participating, good on ya man. That's it for this month and I all hope to see you this June.

So, is it any configuration to get to 220hp or is it the one stated?
also, which number do we take? Full screen dyno chart, or hp quoted before it is full screen...

Anyway you want to get to 220hp. Take the number of from the dyno chart so that you know how much you had at the exact time of the lap. Thanks MarkusXO for getting the new banner up.

Sweet - gotta trial a few options now, however I think the NA tune is the best option, a stage 2 turbo may not be good enough elsewhere...
Lol - options above (racing exhaust, stage 3 NA tune, Chip + oil change - ???hp...
StigsTC
MarkusXO - lets figure it out with all parts applied (no tuning)
Sorry DF at xx/xx
Motorland Nomal - 0'xx.xxx
Motorland Reverse - 0'xx.xxx (do you use that email still?)
Unless you can go faster on reverse, I'm really enjoying that directoinas it suits my attacking style, and wish to take the reverse direction for Motorland.

Does the car handle alright so far? I'm worried that the front wheels may not be able to keep the power down. Oh yeah Speedfreak said that he needed a partner so I think I'll be partnering with him.

That's great to hear. I hope that once I start driving this weekend it'll be as amazing as you say.
Hehe these are just some names I've came up with for my team:
- S & B Racing
- Team S & B
- BS Racers (loL)
- Team BS
- BS Mini Rollers

Just some I came up with. I think BS Mini Rollers sounds nice so far. Need to wait until what SpeedFreak has to say about it though.

B&S Mini Freakers - My version..

More than welcome on the banner Brette.. I had finished the 'Stay Tuned' banner with the same background.. probably an hour or two before you decided to post up the Competition.. SO I went back and redid it.. waiting on Photobucket to update the server cache..

Too much HP.. w/e A Little Slow .. LOL.. and you got us choked back.. Shed A Tear W/E!.. LMAO..Lolly...

I would say the Mini is not bad so far .. but my prelim on HongKong wasn't exactly a walk in the park I think practice may be in my future.. BUT that is going to be okay with now.. who knows..44 Million credits.. hard earned..RIGHT.....LOL.. I can wreck as many of these as I want..

Anyways.. I am going to catch up with this tomorrow.. Oh YEAH.. and respect the Team Badge.. LOL.. I mean it.. Stick Out Tongue

EDIT: He's not serious.. me either.. BUT stupid.. Not...( LOL - Shut-up..) its when we start BS'ing about it you know we are burned and through... then we just are giving input for the other guys to take out first place ..LOL

Following team orders Brette!
I love 51 million credits - means I don't mind what challenge it is!
I wonder what rims I should use to get the best look... just so much to choose from.
Hong Kong isn't on the radar just yet, lets nail motorland and take a lead!
XOTC FTW!!!
love that badge... what should our title sponser be?
Scuderia BMW XOTC?
Or have I gone WAY too far...

LOL BS MiNi Freakers sounds very good (added in a bit of dazzle in the name loL).

I figured that Motorland was going to be a much more straight forward track to tune on, but I felt that the rhythm of driving technique should change from a smooth track layout to a more aggressive street course to help spice things up, and also Hong Kong delivers I nice touch to end the month in.

Of course I'm betting that the team that will win will be the ones who perform the best around Hong Kong. So I guess Motorland can be like a sort of tutorial for the whom of us haven't participated in a team event before (like me).

Does it matter what type of cooper we use?
Have fun while you race others. If you don't why are you racing in the first place?

Okay yeah now I need clarifications as to what car being that someone is going to bring it up...
I had assumed that when they said Cooper, it did not mean Cooper-S.. If that is going to be allowed I think it needs to be clear though starting like right now..

Actually I think I was the one that mentioned that I felt that the S was a better car because of the parts and HP/TQ curve.. and the engineering considerations of the car in what its capabilities render.. ( suspension reactions/power output/balance/ etc.. ) But it is 10 LBS.. ( 5 Kilo ) heavier as mentioned by Stigs... ad Brette wanted Turbo.. and some other things in there..

All I see here is the Cooper on the tune and no list for other cars... so I am going with just the Cooper.. being that he; it was stated he was trying to decide what to use.. and posted this up..

So I would say that this would be what we are doing..but nothing is for sure until the Host verifies it..

@Stigs - We are privately funded.. LOL.. On the Mini, I have been going by the Trim package and Roof color on mine.. 3D Type B ( ? ) wing because it seems to accent the lines correctly for the Mini better.. If the roof is black I go with Black Wing.. and wheel accents ( usually side mirrors are black as well.. ) Black wheel accents..White on White.. Just basically getting something that looks right with what we have to work with..

EDIT: Removed temporary images..

These are two thumbnails ( Links to full-size cropped.. )that I made of two Mini's I have. The white one is an older ( worn ) Cooper.. and the Green is a Cooper-S.. and I think if you go through enough of the rims you can get the white rims for the Cooper.. not for sure.. But you kind of see what I mean.. ( I refuse to show the one I have and am using to tune right now.. don't wanna show anything.. LOL.. Toe, camber... ride height.. nothing.. I am stingy.. - guess thats a side effect of being privately funded.. ) I like the red one in the banner the best..found a few good looking one.. don't know how well they preform though.
